Does Parnnassius felderi bremer 1861 fly in Primorye? And can it theoretically be there? Instance photo:

Well, at least maui flies to the Dalnegorsk region. Yes, maui is bright yellow, but this one is pretty battered.
There may also be an error in the label. This is not excluded. In any case, it is exactly felderi, no matter what its taxonomic status is, whether it is a species or a subspecies.
Parnassius, especially the eversmanni group, gives scientists a lot of difficulties and serves as the object of endless discussions.
The best thing to do in this case is to find out exactly where this instance is collected.

I'm going to create a gallery of the genus Parnassius in "images of insects", where I want to put a lot of photos. In the comments, I will focus on the place, and not on belonging to a particular subspecies.

it is more likely a subspecies of litoreus Stich., 1907-northern Primorye, Amur region.
but it refers to felderi and, respectively, eversmanni also.

Question about subspecies in general: can subspecies theoretically interbreed under artificial conditions?

Theoretically, they can - in nature, even close species sometimes cross (for example, some erebia and jaundice), and sometimes viable hybrids are obtained.

Nothing surprising. This is Parnassius felderi maui, which lives in Primorye. Judging by the literature and other sources, in Primorye occasionally come across such specimens, and not bright yellow. And in the area of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, such specimens are often found, along with yellow ones (there is a subspecies P. f. litoreus). And from Maly Khingan, where the nominative flies, bright yellow specimens are known (at least I know about two such specimens reliably). Conclusion-P. felderi has a huge intrapopulation variability (I saw the series from Miaochang from ONE place, there is such a frenzied variability, specimens in appearance range from a typical Felder with a reduced pattern to bright yellow ones with a well-developed dark pattern and red spots on the hind wings).
According to modern ideas, which I fully share, the felderi-eversmanni group is divided into DVS like this:

Parnassius felderi felderi - Lesser Khingan
P. f.litoreus (= gornyiensis, = vysokogornyiensis) - Miaochang, Northern Sikhote-Alin
P. f. maui - Southern and partly Middle Sikhote-Alin
P. eversmanni vosnessenskyi - northern part of the Bureya Highlands and north
of P. e.polarius - Chukotka, north Yakutia

I fully support it, I want to do it myself for a long time, there is a lot of material, but I don't have enough time for this task.
