aquarium net on a rail, length 0, because there was a small hole in the ice, 20 cm in diameter, as far as the net got there and dug the bottom

It turns out that you got "on the vein"... Just like that, just a couple of zakos and 20 pieces of latissimus! Great! Luck has not been canceled smile.gif

A friend there the day before caught and in general probably caught beetles 50

Can I take a photo of these latissimuses? Not that I don't believe it, but it reminds me a lot of fishing stories...

I also wanted to catch latissimus in Tatarstan. I set up 9 traps made of plastic 5-liter containers. Capelin is used as bait. Let's see what happens in a week.

Yes, it will be interesting to see the result. Can you attach several photos of biotopes? Straight from the ground, so to speak.

For example, here are 2 photos of Karakul Lake from Yandex.

When I look at the traps, I will take photos of other lakes and staritsa as well.

I already wrote in another topic that there are problems with the camera, but I can take a video if you really need wink.gifit

22.08.2012 2:08, Bianor

It wasn't about the video, it was about the photo. You can recognize Latisimus even from a very low-quality photo.

Are these latissimuses rare? Judging by the collector's photo, I have one of these in the aquarium lives.

I don't know much about them, so I ask smile.gif

22.08.2012 11:56, VaV

Well then here it is

"Fedot yes not the one" eek.gifNow everything is clear why your friend mows them "tons" It happens. The beetle is really nice and one of my favorite! Original and recognizable with absolutely stunning behavior with personality of character. Was one of the first beetles in my aquarium as a child. Thank you for reminding me of this!
I should note that you pretty much "tickled" the forum members ' nerves. The people then began to believe... smile.gif
But as practice shows..mysticism is an extremely rare case... So you mow with a net for kilometers - Physical education again smile.gif
This buffoon is Cybister lateralimarginalis (De Geer, 1774) http://www.zin.ru/animalia/coleoptera/rus/dyt_1402.htm

Tsibisterov in a 2-liter bottle trap fits 300 pieces (experimental result)

26.08.2012 11:38, niyaz

I went and checked the traps. I must say right away that there was no Latissimus. Two traps turned out to be empty, apparently the neck fell down to the ground, one was lying on the shore (the fish probably pulled out). There were a lot of latimarginalis (over 60 pieces), marginalis (1 male), small swimmers. It is strange that water lovers of aterimus do not go into traps, although they fly enough to the light.
As a result, I moved some of the traps closer to the dense aquatic vegetation. I set 4 more traps on other smaller and more silted-up lakes. I will catch it further.
Old Ashit riverbed. Here we found latimarginalis, marginalis and two small swimmers
[attachmentid ()=151474]
Lake Ryas. A lot of latimarginalis and a few small swimmers
[attachmentid ()=151475]
Lake Yuvas. There are many Latimarginalis here.

Catch overall:

Dear colleagues, help me figure out if I caught some swimmers in the light, and there was an interesting individual among them. The top is smooth like the male's, and the legs are like the female's without suckers. Place of collecting data. Kazakhstan, 12.08.2012

As I understand it - the smooth shape of the female.

26.08.2012 15:51, botanque

Dear colleagues, please help me figure this out

The common female is D. circumflexus (or D. thianschanicus confused.gif), and they are usually smooth. I don't have any furrows, for example. In general, ditiskus have both smooth and furrowed forms of females in the same population, but their ratio is different in different populations.

Such a question. How to catch a pinwheel? Bring only a regular entomological net, which can not be wetted.
But I want to catch it. What to do?

afigennolovkim movement of the upper limblol.gif, but before that it is better to fit it in shallow water, so that it (vertyachka) does not particularly dive-personal experience umnik.gif

You can try it with a plastic cup or some other container.
