But in " Neskuchny.."there's some weird stuff going on with them...crawling half-dead and lying dead on the paths, the same found near the walls of the Kremlin on the embankment (personal observations and fees 2005-2010). Something they seem to be seriously watered, or their "victims" confused.gifand in the Lipetsk region found "zhivchikov" and this point is not in the " Bugs... Tsurikova" tongue.gifnow it remains to find it with us (although according to "some data" it seems to have been found, but there are at least vague doubts about this) and from the same series..............
In general, there is a separate topic for "ghosts" and so on, but still..for the Tambov region, "michurintsy" =a whole school on the basis of the Michurinsky Pedagogical Institute (and now, almost the Academy at the science city) found us a Carabus coriaceus wink.gif tongue.gif shuffle.gif

And who has the biggest eggs? I came across information that the stick insect Heteropteryx dilatata (Parkinson, 1798), but are there any competitors? I know, in our local solitary bees (osmium, for example) eggs are quite large, especially by the time the larva hatches. So, maybe a certain large tropical bee has record-breaking eggs?

Definitely, in some Xylocopa, 1.5 cm or more in length. But they are narrow, like a sausage, so that by weight, of course, they are inferior to stick insects, at times.

The mass of insects is known only from holotypes. Here they are the most "rare". umnik.gif

Probably the most-presamogo rare animal is still not caught....

Leafhoppers can rightfully be considered masters of camouflage among insects smile.gif

It looks like someone else chewed on this specimen when it was young, mistaking it for a leaf. I note that this species is in culture in Europe, but breeders in the CIS countries do not take root. And what exactly is the record?

In disguise wink.gif
But it still didn't help him )

Well, you can argue with that. No, of course, not with the fact that they were unlucky, but with the fact that this particular species is the record holder.

You can argue with anything. There would be a desire.
I don't have that desire smile.gif
We are not talking about a specific species, but about the whole family: Phylliidae (Leafhoppers). It's just that this view is the only one in my collection (I don't do them), so I gave the photo as an example of imitation of green leaves.

Yes, there is a whole squad with rare exceptions in the record holders for disguise can be recorded. Although some erect wings and praying mantises can compete with stick insects in this respect.

People-and does anyone know-what exactly is the name of the substance that causes wild torment in a person who touches the" most poisonous caterpillar in the world " Megalopyge opercularis?
By the way , I just found out that I was a hair's breadth away from (I can imagine what!!!) while photographing the second "most venomous caterpillar in the world" Lonomia Obliqua. Also, still, similar to it, I was just too lazy/did not think to take it for pupation with my bare hands... It seems that their poison is "botulinum toxin" - but this is only guesswork
By the way, during the collection of caterpillars of the white American butterfly in the second grade - my hands were covered with boils up to the elbows.

Yes? ... - and Valentinus, in my opinion, meets him periodically...
