Hello dear forum visitors, this summer I'm hoping to get out to the Crimea and so I want to find out what are the relatively large and spectacular species of beetles(for example, black beetles or ground beetles).Thank you in advance!

Well, you just have to know about one particularly large species of ground beetles there, otherwise there is nothing to do with beetles at all.

Large ground beetles in the Crimea? What is your attitude to the Red Book? After all, the law directly prohibits the collection of such insects ... umnik.gif

Well, yes, quotes are good.
But in Yakutia, it is quite possible to sit down for three years. I think that this is also possible in Crimea.

Photos of your collection would be shown in acc. the section? Probably you specialize in Dermestidae, so that you don't get scolded by the red book.

I asked people from specialists, they advised me...

Have there been any cases? If so, don't share the link - I didn't find anything like it right away.

Sorry for the offtop: I don't think that in our country they will put you in jail for catching insects.

Before you write, we would ask in the personal account who you are writing to. Maybe then it would have realized that I didn't have my own collection. wall.gif

Why in PM? The Internet has everything. Isn't even one box at home? Even with wasps?

There isn't one. Even with wasps. I have enough of them in the workplace to go anywhere.
In addition, there is a certain moral code among museum employees, one of the principles of which does not recommend having personal collections.
Once in another life, I had my own collection of mostly butterflies. But when it began to take up too much space in the room and require too much attention to maintain it in decent condition, everything was transferred to the museum funds.

I caught butterflies in Yakutia and for the first time I hear that there would be some problems.
