For Mr. WAUGH.
P_1220571.jpg - Protaetia (Potosia) cuprea metallica ab. volhyniensis (G. & P.). In any case, very similar. Although the color of the upper side of the body is similar to P. (P.) cuprina (Motsch.), but I think it is still cuprea metallica ab. volhyniensis

Cucujus coccinatus (Cucujidae), judging by the color.
However, it is widespread in the Southern Kuril Islands and in Japan...

Question to the gentlemen-experts of barbels. Is it possible to guess from this bad photo what kind of Agapanthia it is? Moscow region, body length 9 mm. I'm leaning towards villosoviridescens, but the hideously small size confuses me.

06.06.2007 16:41, Dinusik

Help identify the barbel. I think it's one of the Lepturins, or am I mistaken?

Thanks! Then it turns out to be Brachyta interrogationis L. Only according to the determinant, there should be bandages on the elytra. How variable is the color of this species?

Very variable, if I'm not mistaken, to completely black elytra

The instance is pretty damn funny...
mgne, too, it seems that most likely interrogationis.... in addition, the species is very variable in color....
Here it is hard to see, but the 2nd copy with spots is not connected... but not with such round ones.
But we'll wait to hear what the doctor says.

I looked at the collection - I have about a third of Brachyta interrogationis with this color. True, the species is ordinary and probably just tried to catch beetles with some deviations in color.

Well, Nimrod has already spoken out - this is probably P. metallica.

07.06.2007 10:33, Mikhail F. Bagaturov

Dina, it's probably Brachyta variabilis, but then again, the doctor knows better smile.gif

Here, I found it: http://molbiol.ru/forums/index.php?showtopic=163178

Of the black ones, you also have Brachyta breyti running around, but I do not know how it differs from the chein aberration of variabilis, only it is larger and more robust in appearance.

Similar to Evodinus.. Usually they have a different color of their limbs.

The one with the light legs seems to fit the description of Evodinus borealis Gyll. (according to the determinant, only this type is found here). And the second one, most likely not him, he does not have a bump on the pronotum. Waiting for KDG.
