And how does this book differ from the book by D. V. Morgun "BULAVOUS LEPIDOPTERA of EUROPEAN RUSSIA AND NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES" and the identification disk Lysandra Diurnal butterflies of Eastern Europe (Ivy, Morgun, Dovgailo, Rubin, Solodovnikov)?

13.09.2007 21:24, AntSkr

I would buy books about various lepidoptera (by family) in Russian, and then prices for foreign literature, for example, in entomological store No. 1 in Moscow (http://www.entomon.ru/goods/literature_prices.html) leave much to be desired.

13.09.2007 21:29, Zhuk

Well this is like a paper version of the disk smile.gif

13.09.2007 21:36, AntSkr

well, I already have the disk... smile.gif

13.09.2007 22:02, AntSkr

But if the book is a paper version of the disc, then why is it better? Or are there still significant differences?

13.09.2007 22:17, Zhuk

There are some additions there. I haven't seen it inside yet...

13.09.2007 22:21, AntSkr

Do the KMK Scientific Press publishing house of the Moscow State University Zoo Museum have any other books on lepidoptera? Can I find a list somewhere?

13.09.2007 23:47, Dmitrii Musolin

and how much the book costs approximately, no one knows?

14.09.2007 14:20, lepidopterolog

300 rubles from the author. I've already seen this book (but I'm still not going to buysmile.gifit), which is especially important - it has a lot of good illustrations of genitalia and some species. There are several tables with color photos. The book itself is structured in much the same way as Korshunov's "Bulavous Lepidoptera of Northern Asia": at the beginning - defining tables for all species, at the end - information about biology and distribution.

14.09.2007 14:22, Mikhail F. Bagaturov

, for example, in entomology store No. 1 in Moscow (http://www.entomon.ru/goods/literature_prices.html) leave much to be desired.

Isn't the store owner Genralov, by any chance? smile.gif not everyone can swing so wide!

I wonder if there are books like Freude ... Die Kafer Mitteleurope, Carabidae 2; 2004 yr.; 480 p., 360 fig. available in stock or on order. No one knows?

14.09.2007 14:32, lepidopterolog

Zhuravlevsmile.gif Book prices do introduce some...mmm...Stupor smile.gifFor example, a couple of years ago, I bought a nice little book by Eugene le Mult called "My Butterfly Hunt" (detgiz, 60-some year - in general, everyone probably knows what it's about). So, I bought it for a symbolic 30 rubles. I recently opened the price list for books and was shocked: the store sells it for 1300!!! eek.gif To be honest, there is nothing to pay for such money - it is not such a rarity. On the other hand, you should not expect that some books (for example, d'abrerra) will be cheap...

Well, small children, ept. There is a phone and soap, call, write.

14.09.2007 17:12, RippeR

I wrote, but there is no response yet..
It is interesting to know if there are colored tags only for some types or for all?

14.09.2007 17:14, lepidopterolog

There is where? In " Bulavousykh..."?

14.09.2007 19:09, AntSkr

Prices from 10 to 20 thousand! And they will find a lot of people who can buy a couple of such books...

15.09.2007 11:55, Pavel Morozov

Do not, well, increase prices many times over!!! You need to be able to do this.
Monopolists, damn it!
If we had more than one such shop, then the prices would have been decent.
The buyer will be found, or rather, the buyer will be found. In our country, getting more or less normal specialized literature not through the Internet is so problematic that it becomes disgusting. Our people are reluctant to use the Internet for fear of unreliability. In such a situation, only a reprint should be made (it would be good to have a high-quality one), no one will want to mess with the rights, will the game be worth the candle?
And so, what is, that is-a beginner will walk around the coveted book every week licking his lips, asking about such a book-will cause an increase in demand for it, as a result - an increase in prices. In the end, someone will buy these books, because "on bezptichye - and ass-nightingale" .

16.09.2007 19:17, AntSkr

By the way, a beginner will not walk around the book! I visited them today, they do not store such expensive literature in the store, only pre-order. (we showed a similar book, for example - the quality is impressive, of course).

The problem is more in the payment system - not everyone has credit cards...

Et is accurate!I ordered it from them myself.we sit, we wait.... and on imonarch.cz lots of interesting stuff, by the way!

20.09.2007 2:34, taler

"and on imonarch.cz lots of interesting stuff, by the way! "- yes, the catalog is full of good things, BUT!!!I visited there in the summer(during the first international congress in Moscow) and was fascinated several times-Many of the products presented in the catalog are not available for salefrown.gif. This concerned the diameters and types of nets, the size of entomological boxes, books. Also noticed that imonarch.cz not friendly with the Internet-my order hangs for more than 2 weeks, but there is no response. But the owner of the store speaks good Russian and you can communicate with him by phone.

You don't need to post such information, and at the same time ignoring messages to your e-mail. The author is stubbornly silent. This is really some kind of spam, worthless message.

The reasons for the author's silence are indeed somewhat unclear... However, I previously contacted the author through this address, and successfully received his previous book in the mail.

I ordered the previous book and received it. So don't get too excited with unsubstantiated accusations of spamming.

Yes, I just didn't say anything about spamming. On the contrary, he confirmed that he had previously received a book from the author, and contacted him via this e-mail address.

The book continues to be distributed by region.

01.12.2007 23:14, okoem

Well it's like a paper version of the disk smile.gif

I saw this book recently. This is not a paper version of Yandex. Disk. There are a lot of high-quality photos of butterflies on the disk, but in the book there are few and not very high-quality, small ones.
