Hello! Dear entomologists, I have a request for you. A biology teacher I knew asked me to sketch out a dozen topics on forest entomology. He wants to conduct a small scientific work with his wards (students in grades 5-9) next summer. So far, I have enough imagination for five topics. It is unlikely that they will be able to go anywhere far from the city, so the emphasis is all on what can be done either in the city itself or in its immediate surroundings.

"Sundew victims" - who do insectivores eat? And then there are proton-insectivorous plants like tar.
All this work was done in the Tver region by schoolchildren, so there are plans, even some results and reports. It would be interesting to do this in Krasnoyarsk.

The simplest work is a description of the fauna (species, encounters, preferred biotopes, etc.). It will be quite interesting for schoolchildren, I know from my own experience. True, I did this work not on insects, but on amphibians.

if it is possible to work all season and identify some mass species at the beginning of the season, then you can trace the phenology of all stages of development and see where and who winters and in what condition.

With orchids, it is difficult, but the idea of pollinators is very interesting, I will try to promote it. I'm afraid that insectivorous plants will be difficult. It won't be easy to find them in an accessible location.

I think that behavioral studies are no less interesting, and sometimes even more interesting: to see things that no one has ever seen before in living insects (communication, lifestyle, development, etc.). You can learn a lot from living nature.
