I am a student and now I am writing a course paper, the teacher suggested a topic on insect physiology. I climbed on the Internet and really did not find anything ((
Who has anything on this topic, throw it on the soap or leave a link. Pliz
And I would like to know who in Russia is doing this?? The topic seems interesting , I would like to learn more. Thank you in advance.

??????

Google: Results 1-10 of about 223,000 for insect physiology. (0.22 seconds)

What did you search for and how? Ready-made abstract or material?

Many people are engaged in various aspects of insect physiology, including in Russia. About other countries (and network resources) I'm not saying.... This includes resting physiology, endocrinology, behavioral physiology, cold tolerance, digestion, respiration - anything!

Take a look to get started:

Tyshchenko V. P. Fundamentals of insect physiology. Volume 1. - L.: 1976. - 363 p.
Tyshchenko V. P. Fundamentals of insect physiology. Volume 2. - L.: 1977. - 302 p.
Tyshchenko, V. P., Physiology of insect photoperiodism, Tr. VEO, 1977, vol. 59-152 p.
Tyshchenko V. P. Physiology of insects, Moscow: Vysshaya shkola Publ., 1986.

and decide on a narrower topic. And there are more books, articles, and other things that are not lost (especially in English).

By the way, here, for example:

Yes, Musolin is right - there are a lot of things about insect physiology. You still need to decide on the topic (this is a direct task of your supervisor) because "Insect physiology" is not a topic, but a huge area in entomology.

The topic is interesting, but not so vastsmile.gif
What exactly is it about insect physiology that interests you?

An abstract journal is a good remedy for information cravings:

Personally, I've been ironing this link for about a month now, and I can't tear myself away.
It will help you decide on the topic of research, get an idea of the "physiology of insects" in general. In addition, sometimes there are good research papers, and the necessary work can be ordered from VINITI (addresses on the VINITI website) - I already ordered it, it turns out not expensive.

I am a student of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology. I am writing a course on the topic "The influence of individual variability on the size of the body". Can someone tell me anything...

About how... your supervisor wrapped you up...!

Maybe not an "Influence" but a "Connection" with the overall size of the body.

Related topics include:

And doesn't "variability" include, in particular, such a parameter as the size of an organism?
Or do I understand something wrong?

Yeah. So I'm confused by the topic name. Rather, there may be a connection between the variability of some features and the variability of others.

Thanks for the hints... I'm going to lose my mind... I'll be spending the night in our university library soon... Moreover, only the first course, I don't want to face the dirt...

About the library and hints. There is such a thing as a"Reference Journal". A huge bibliography (including on insects) with summaries for almost every article. A brilliant invention of mankind, I can tell you. Check it out!

it is also available online. Someone gave a link....

I decided to start doing my second term paper... my supervisor didn't give me a clear topic...he said that he didn't want to limit it, but he formulated the goal for me:
•analyze the advantages of being a large or small organism using a simulation model;
•study laboratory methods of this problem
Methods for studying population ecology in arthropods

Maybe someone knows where in what literature you can find such information...

Eka WELL you threw... Are you studying biology or programming? This is me on the subject of a simulation model. And in general-it is, of course, not about insects, but still: look at the Bergman rule. In general, you can think about the applicability of the Bergman rule to poikilothermic organisms. And, perhaps, then we should look for work on the thermoregulation of poikilotherms. Maybe Prisny has something about insects.

And what does PROFITABLE mean?
Who lives more profitably: an elephant or an infusoria?
