On January 13, 2017, Bernard d'Abrera passed away. Australian entomologist and taxonomist, known for his numerous publications of books on lepidoptera.

For more than 40 years, he has been photographing museum specimens around the world, as well as collecting samples and entering their descriptions in catalogs.
In 1982, Bernard and his wife founded Lucilla Hill House Publishers in Melbourne and London to publish, among other things, their own work.
