Vadim Sharov, 11.03.2019 10:56

VTT State Center for Technological Research has launched a live broadcast on YouTube, the main characters of which are the larvae of the black lion cub.

The VTT research container contains about 100 thousand individuals of this small fly. The State Research Center, together with scientists from the University of Jyvaskyla, is studying their eating behavior.

The black lion cub has been studied because it can become a solution to the problem of bio-waste disposal. Larvae feed on any substances of biological origin, except wood, and in three weeks they can increase in size by 800-1000 times.

Fascinating, not exciting, and in Russia at least 10 centers are engaged in the commercialization of larvae. Cosmetologists from all over the world are chasing the fat of these larvae smile.gif
