Keeping and breeding of beetles

Community and ForumInsects breedingKeeping and breeding of beetles

Tomas.Adzkee, 06.01.2009 0:04

I want to start an insectarium with tropical phytophages.

I don't know how to approach this case....

capacity is not a problem to buy. I want to make it to order. 50x50xlength 80. I plan to divide it into 2-3 sections to plant larvae. rumor has it that they bite each other)

The main question is where to get the animals?
Maybe there is someone in Ukraine / Odessa?

How to deal with customs if you take them to Russia?
If from other countries?

In short, any comments are pleasant

There is a mini-zoo in Donetsk www.minizoo.donetsk.ua and in Kiev there is an insect farm bugdesign.com.ua in Donetsk, I personally bought different animals many times, well, because I myself come from theresmile.gif, visit both sites, there is a very good choice

06.01.2009 11:53, Tomas.Adzkee

I raised information on the Internet, and I visited these sites already.

I'd rather talk to private traders...

And the finances haven't broken up yet ) Maybe someone pushes with their hands...

"And the finances haven't broken up yet ) Maybe someone pushes with their hands..."

So probably very few people breed tropical beetles, they just keep them, since finances do not allow it, they could collect larvae of local aurat (golden bronze) and deer beetles, and bring them out until smile.gif

06.01.2009 15:55, Tomas.Adzkee

Well, you may have to)

In general, the goal was to find out if someone on this forum deals with coleoptera of the tropics...

Aerogenosis would be a pleasure ! )

Deer larva develops for 5 years )
This is only an adult to find.
But it's still boring

Here are the tropics...)

Donetsk zoo...we've already told you...
in general, the bourgeoisie is full of sites...especially among the Germans and Czechs...search engine-rules.
BREEDING STAG BEETLES, BREEDING FLOWER BEETLES, etc
. deer in captivity develop faster, but smaller if not kept in the cold in winter...

06.01.2009 17:08, Мих

where can I dig up deer?

06.01.2009 18:07, Бабочник

you can visit cervuses on the Black Sea coast...ibericusov - from Ossetia to Karachay-Cherkessia through the forests where the oak is. They fly in the evenings in June and July.

06.01.2009 18:10, Бабочник

Yes, by the way, the Japanese are just fans of breeding beetles, including deer...

06.01.2009 18:42, Guest

Well, in Japan, it can be very harmonious with some ideas about their lifestyle-measured, meditative, since the full life cycle of most families requires unprecedented patience, so I still think it will be boring smile.gif

And in Kiev there should be a lot of cervuses, the more north they are and they are larger as far as I know, I found them here, but they are small.

06.01.2009 22:39, Бабочник

I cheto nedumayu that in where-thread in Tokyo "meditative lifestyle""....

07.01.2009 22:34, Мих

Mngogo-a lot.. I've never seen it in Kiev. I've seen it 2 times in Crimea.. Where to find them? I didn't ask for the territory, actually, but the area.. Under the pine, under the oak? On a pine tree, on an oak tree? In the open field? By the stream? By the swamp? At the sands? in the forest, in a clearing?

08.01.2009 0:42, Бабочник

in the forest....paths in the forest. beetle clusters on oak bark where sap flows out.
I think odorous wandering baits are possible.

08.01.2009 0:45, Tomas.Adzkee

Tell me, brothers... And where/when is the best time to look for potozia larvae?

08.01.2009 22:16, Мих

And the forest is pine.. And how to make baits?

It is best to buy some eudicella, dicronorrin, helorrin in the Donetsk mini-zoo park - they are large, beautiful and grow relatively quickly. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, there are people who breed tropical beetles, but it is unlikely that anyone will sell them cheaper than in Donetsk. By the way, they are much easier to breed than our deer or our bronzes.

09.01.2009 14:41, Buzman

In Kiev, I came across deer three times even in the center, on Bogomolets Street and the surrounding area, at the end of May. And on Trukhashka, in the middle of summer, you can pick up marble crushers, also sipatishny critters

I'll probably do that..)

50x50x80 cm - it won't be enough. Especially for large animals. For small bronzes, that's all right... In any case, there are quite a lot of sites for keeping and breeding beetles, as well as forums. But if you have any specific questions , I'll be happy to help.

Hello everyone, I was suddenly brought a live deer beetle from Ukraine mol.gif
put it in a plate and covered with a net, poured shavings
what to feed it? how long can he live and what conditions can he create?
And if he dies, how to process him so that a beautiful straightened carcass is preserved?

14.06.2010 15:49, Liparus

There is a separate topic - keeping insects in captivity

can you link it? I can't search for ._.

14.06.2010 23:04, Liparus

I couldn't find it either

There's something about deer:
http://molbiol.ru/forums/index.php?showtop...04029&hl=неволе

In general, there are those on this site who can tell you how to contain it,the most interesting is

15.06.2010 8:04, Cloyster

a narwhal of oak leaves threw him in a makeshift cage, gave him a piece of apple, like he was sitting
so strong, turns the lid with a glass as a load over

15.06.2010 8:20, london

try a very strong and sweet tea with oak leaves. should get

15.06.2010 8:22, Cloyster

try a very strong and sweet tea with oak leaves. it should work out well

and how to arrange housing for him?

15.06.2010 8:29, london

and how to arrange housing for him?

How how? it's very simple A terrarium with crisscrossed twigs and a small number of leaves the main thing is that the bottom is completely covered and of course the lid does not fly away but somewhere in the corner and a saucer with food seems to be enough but this is all not for long since they do not live long

17.06.2010 15:45, Cloyster

the subject is still relevant, can I give him some syrup?

I read about tropical rainbow deer there they write that they feed honey, maple syrup and something else

15.07.2010 9:59, Liparus

Yesterday I caught a bronze bird called aerugilosa, and now it's sitting in a cage, eating an apple from the night before.Tell me it can be maintained, so that she laid eggs and her offspring came out, what is needed for this?

Chewed through the net!Be careful!Probably you need to make a cage like a bank, and in the place of the lid a grid so that it does not get out.

Under one bronze plate, that would not bother enough capacity in the form of a glass 3-liter jar filled with oak dust mixed with oak leaves. On the surface, place a drinking bowl for terrarium animals in which you put food (sweet fruits-strawberries, cherries, bananas, pears, etc.). Instead of a drinking bowl, you can use a piece of plastic or something similar, even a cork from a 5-liter bottle. Spoiled food - remove and replace with fresh. Fill the container with 2/3 of the substrate. The substrate must be wet. Look for eggs in the light at the very bottom of the jar. Since the bronze is one, it makes sense to transplant it to a new substrate in a new jar every 1-1. 5 months.
Will you sell the larvae?

Thank you very much, and take the dust in the form of porashka or large pieces?I'm going to pick at the stump where once in May of this year athenis was discovered.
Aeruginosa saw at the end of May as flew (three times) in the hollow in which the chicks were, perhaps it is only in the dust of the trunk itself razvivaetsya?

16.07.2010 10:56, vlad-veras

Take large, but easily crumbling pieces.
I prefer to put pieces of r-rom 3-5 cm on the bottom, ground on top, and then crushed leaf litter. So the larva will have a choice of food that it likes best.

Good day friends.

I have a problem with Cetonia aurata, please give some good advice.
The problem is that beetles and larvae were taken from nature, the beetles laid eggs well, but the larvae got used to the beetles , at the moment there are 11 beetles, they are already about a month old, and do not lay eggs, what could be the problem? what are they missing or egg laying? well, I'll also ask a couple of questions so as not to produce topics, How to find out the sex of bronzes at the larval stage?
I hope for your help friends.

Sincerely, Alexander.

If there was no wintering, most likely, there will be no brood. Just in case, you can plant them in a warm place kholodilnik (+5 - +10C) for a couple of weeks. Protein-rich foods, such as boiled meat, are useful for successful breeding. In general, the species is not easy in captivity.
