Please tell me how to keep at home before breeding imago larvae of lamellar beetles? And is it realistic for a beginner? I've never done this before.
Found in the forest very large larvae laminatousyh. I think - the last age. Some of it was in the soil under the log, and some of it was in the log itself. The log is rotten, but strong, deciduous, I don't know exactly what kind. The forest is leafy and not dense. Not oak. What kind of trees I can't say, because the location is New York State. These are definitely not bronzes, the dimensions are very large, 8 centimeters in the unfolded form, with the index finger thickness. Lucanides? Then most likely this is not the last age?
I collected them together with the substrate: part of the soil with wood rot, wood rot and pieces of rotten wood.
Questions.
I understand in this substrate and contain them?
In a deep plastic bowl?
Is it possible to put everyone together or sit them down?
Do I need to moisten the substrate?
Do I need to change the substrate periodically?
Is room temperature suitable or do you need heating?
Do I need to put thick leaves on top?
Do I still need to feed?
How to stimulate pupation? "Remove the feed?"
I will be very grateful for any tips or useful links!
