Somewhere in the 70 small rest in Odessa, in the holiday house "Lighthouse". And he saw an insect: they represented a wasp about 7-10 cm with rudimentary wings.. I saw it almost every day (I like the insects, specifically went to see). Then I read in Strugatskih description Gunda and more or anything not found. I would be grateful for any information.

The PP mentioned some insect called "Gunda". Could you say - it's a legend, clean your "invention" or in Gunda is the real "prototype"? In general, the description Gunda most similar to Scola - a large earthen wasp (by the way, almost completely harmless). Anyway, as far as I know, on the territory of the former.USSR deadly insects like never done ...

http://litrus.net/book/description/155062История with "Gunda" is almost exactly the same as the actual events that took place in the summer of 1956 at the excavation of the ancient fortress of Qala-i-Moog in Tajikistan.I myself am an entomologist amateur, but about the "Gunde" to find out it never managed to, although rummaging in different directories and pestering to professionals (even in those days). So the "secret of this is the great"!

There would be less than the beast, I thought it was a wasp or hornet with a gnawed-off wings.
