Quote from Vasily Feoktistov: " Read-would have a height above sea level where you took the picture ...... "
On the second trip clarified the exact place: Gunung Alab mnt., Sabah, Borneo height of 1900 m above sea level on the testimony of the Navigator, the Internet is a place referred to as the height of 2000m above sea level
This information is already unimportant, as I understand, but still ....

This site seven boxes Nyctemera baulus no one is like a butterfly. But 8 boxes Nyctemera kinibalina all such white sash bottom razdvaevaetsya, but something is wrong, it was too specific, when the photo is only planned separation, barely noticeable, began to view all Nyctemera, until I found that we had, it tenompoka also endemic, rare and many times more than the previous species. I stand.

Confidently identified Tentatively identified.

Put in inaccurate, and about altitude why I asked:
Nyctemera kinibalina Snellen, 1899 : "Habitat preference. On Kinabalu the species is infrequent from 1200m to 2100m. Two specimens were taken at round 1800m in upper montane forest on G. Mulu." http://www.mothsofborneo.com/part-6/arctiinae/arctiinae-12-12.php
Nyctemera baulus Boisduval, 1832 : "Habitat preference. This is a widespread sometimes common species of lowland (up to 1200m) secondary, disturbed and agricultural ecosystems." http: // www.mothsofborneo.com/part-6/arctiinae/arctiinae-12-2.php
The head can break .....

Basil, at Nyctemera kinibalina tie into the bottom corner of the forks and how to ragulku forms, more at one of the other kind are not visible, even bends there, baby, can can be inaccurate, again strongly want to define. :)

06.06.2014 18:06, Svetlana Shchavelina

So ... I found a couple more similar butterflies photo taken better (but shot the next day - or rather night). Look now loaded.

06.06.2014 17:57, Svetlana Shchavelina

About 900-1000m above sea level
It was cold enough (16⁰S night, the day somewhere 23-25⁰S), damp.

06.06.2014 17:40, Vasiliy Feoktistov

A Nyctemera kinibalina my knowledge and rare species to the same endemic (even based on the Latin name).
Check-would have a height above sea level where you took the picture ......

06.06.2014 17:26, Vasiliy Feoktistov

And forever buried there ........ (

See. Figure Breast: http://lepidoptera.butterflyhouse.com.au/arct/baulus.html
Nothing specific for this shot, and not come up. Of course you can in neoprene. remove the lower wings again if it is not visible :)

06.06.2014 17:12, Alexandr Zhakov

Well, you're brave, Vasily. :) I would not give 20% of the correct definition, sorry 10%, where 10 species with a similar pattern. most of them are all similar, Nyctemera kinibalina, but without the rear wing, I generally would not identify. Nevizhu nor any reason to treat this butterfly to a specific type. not finding fault, simply stating the situation.

Not identified Nyctemera baulus / Confidently identified / Vasiliy Feoktistov.

And as it turned out, "casket just opened" :)

05.06.2014 1:07, Alexandr Zhakov

I'm basically on this site http://www.mothsofborneo.com and then check. it ends, and then you leave that does not :)

05.06.2014 1:03, Vasiliy Feoktistov

It is necessary to google. Nyctemera black I have not come across: there are not many should be in my opinion. On the phone, as without hands ... Although with an Internet, already annoyed (

05.06.2014 0:53, Alexandr Zhakov

Nyctemera, but what ?, without the lower wing probably never know.
