Photo, and identified by: Alexsandr Martukov. Image without retouching at the website

Date and time, location shooting/catching: 2014-07-05 00:00:00, Vologda region, Velikoustyugsky district, Yudinsky settlement, in the floodplain of the Yamzha River, near Petryaevskaya dacha.

Photographer's comment: To find the mother-of-pearl, I had to go to a safe place, in the floodplain of a small river Yamzha (flows into the northern Dvina) in a picturesque place called Petryaevskaya dacha. From the dacha there is a large meadow-slope to the river. Near the river itself is a small floodplain overgrown with meadowsweet. Mother-of-pearl tavolzhanki really showed up there. I had to chase. In one place, two butterflies were running around and playing. As it turned out, a male and a female. Miraculously, I took off both, well, very shy. Самка - http://lepidoptera.ru/gallery/31340.
