Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species

  • Wingspan 55-75 mm. The zebra butterflies used to place in the genus Paranticopsis, FW is not produced, HW rounded or crenulated, dark brown with pale greenish-white markings, usually with a series of narrow marginal white spots in each space and tailless. This species, HW is cell rather long and narrow. Sexes alike, UP bears a narrow greenish white stripe in each space. Subsp. gyndes bears comparatively narrow stripes than in indochinensis and indochinensis bears also narrower stripes than in perakensis. [144].
