Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species
- Forewing from 1.4 to 1.8 cm, the species is very similar to Archiearis parthenias, but there are always no black-gray and white dots on the forewings, and the antennae of males are two-ribbed, not filiform. [85].
General info about Imago
- The habitats are the same upland swamps as in the case of A. parthenias, but the confinement to them is less strong. The species in question is also found along the shores of lakes, if there are willows and poplars, in poplar plantings and along heather beds. Imagos are active during the day, willingly perch on flowering willow catkins. [85].
