How many species of the order Phasmatidae live in Russia? Baculum ussurianum from Primorye is known from a few finds; Ramulus bituberculatus lives in Bashkiria. Are there any other types?

Only two. In the former USSR, there are 7 species of stick insects, of which 6 (genus Ramulus) are found in the deserts of Transcaucasia, Central Asia, and southern Kazakhstan. And only one to the north reaches Bashkiria. And the Ussuri stick beetle is in the Red Book.

By the way, A.V. Lagunov (Miass, Ilmensky zapov.) said that Bashkir entomologists apparently took some small skinny bug for the stick insect Ramulus bituberculatus. I don't know what's really there, but it looks like Lagunov was right confused.gif

This year we have seen a large number of Ussuri stick insects on the Blue Ridge (in the Spassky district of Primorye). And he kept mostly not on trees, but in the grass-on cereals and clover. We took some of the stick insects with us, wanted to keep them for cultural interest, but they all died and refused to eat...

On the grass, usually, hold the larvae of younger ages, then move to the trees. They eat a lot of things, but most of all they like linden. And what did you feed them?
