They don't seem to be responding. I just did an experiment in the country. On a cage with a live female - about 20 males from 16-30 to 18-30. I put a dead unfertilized female nearby - they never even swooped down.

... will males react to a dead unfertilized female???
I read that they react even to a clean cloth on which the female came out of the cocoon...

In 2009 or 2010, I checked information about the summer of males on the fabric. The females were left at home, and only a piece of gauze from the "skin" of the cage was taken out to the forest. The males flew for the first 30 minutes, then the smell probably disappeared.

Hello, I'm a newbie. I would like to look at photos of typical biotopes, if anyone has any.
Sincerely yours!

Female E. pavonia was kept in a cage in the forest for 4 days. I visited her periodically, but not a single male arrived. Maybe the biotope isn't hers, but everything seems to fit.
Today I took it home, still in excellent quality. So I think maybe I can spread it out in the collection, someone said that males on brood females only fly for three or four days...Or try it in another biotope, where I caught it last year.

A dead unfertilized one has never been visited.

From 8.05 to 12.05, 3-4 female specimens were born every night.

Tell me, how many days can males fly to an unfertilized female?

I have a female for 5 days sat in the cage, no one arrived. There's no point in continuing to try to catch her?

On day 5, the female usually throws off unfertilized eggs, and she dies.

So the question itself disappeared, I sit at home, watch TV and out of the corner of my eye I notice movement on the loggia. I go out, and there are several males flying around the cage. I caught two-perfect ones. Interestingly, it was from 19.00 to 20.30. Now at lunchtime, and in the morning, there is no one. I conclude that they were only hatched yesterday, and they have a lot going on in the evening.
I'll try fishing again tonight, but I want to go out in the yard. The female sits as good as new, did not throw off her eggs, although she is already 6 days old.

it was from 19.00 to 20.30.

Males start flying after 16-00 somewhere before 20-00.
