Found today under the bark of a damp dead tree almost at the ground, in the forest (predominate:walnut, pine, birch, oak,I didn't recognize the tree itself confused.gif)The size is about 3 cm. I think one of the barbels, because in the foliage right under the site of the find lay a brown elytra about 4 cm in length and approx. 1 cm in width.

I forgot about the question smile.gif smile.gif
I brought it home and put it in a cellophane bag in an empty flower pot...(photo from there smile.gif) Can you tell me if it is possible to remove beetles, and the process itself(care, etc.)??

Brown elytra about 4 cm in length and approx. 1 cm in width - this is the first time I caught a deer beetle (it was under the bark of a pine stump - ants dragged it) smile.gifAnd in your case it can be Prionus coriarius, Ergates faber. Take a picture of the elytra..

Elytra could not take a picture, the camera, as luck would have it, decided to leave it at home frown.gif
It is thin and slightly ribbed (vdl)...It resembles Megopis scabricornis, but I don't even know if it can be found in the MO confused.gif smile.gifWell, in any case, I'll try to grow larvae, and....who can help you with tips on keeping a full moon? mol.gif smile.gif
