Two females laid a couple of hundred eggs, now I feed the caterpillars of the first age. In the literature, it is written that the caterpillar overwinters. I don't want to get involved with the caterpillar wintering grounds.
Question: can the caterpillar pupate so that the pupae diapause and not the caterpillars? If the conditions are more favorable than in nature, the apartment is warmer...

Most likely, the caterpillars will calmly reach pupation without wintering, and in 2-3 weeks there will be butterflies. However, it is smaller than usual.
