Iolana iolas Ochsenheimer, 1816. Colleagues, what anyone knows about the mentions of this species on the territory of Ukraine.

This type is never listed in the "domestic" regional lists for Ukraine.
I found only one historical reference of the beginning of the 20th century-Obraztzov N. S.-Zur Kenntnis der Lepidopteren der Dnjepr-Bugschen Steppe / / Trudy Fizichno-Matematicheskogo Viddilu. Volume XIII. vip. 1. 1929-mention with reference to Barey - 15.07.1911 Andrusowka. Apparently, this is a modern Andrusovka in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This indication is considered doubtful or erroneous. I am not aware of any other finds in the country.

However, in a number of European reference books on European butterflies, this species is listed for the territory of Ukraine.

Here is a more accurate map of the distribution in Europe from the Kudrna atlas. Red dots - finds before 1950, yellow - 1950-1980, green-after 1980.

Thank you. I see there is a certain point before 1950 somewhere near the border with the Odessa region. Although, of course, on such a scale, the spread of tens of kilometers is obvious.

I think it's from Mann's work: Mann, J. 1866. Aufzählung der im Jahre 1865 in der Dobrudscha gesammelten Schmetterlinge

yes, there is such a thing, but it is given for the region in present-day Moldavia

Since we are talking about Dobrudja, we are referring to Telitza (Teliţa), which is located 15 km west of Tulcea.

Telitsa is a village in the Novoaneni district of Moldova. It is the administrative center of Telitsa Commune
