The paths turned into streams, and the car tracks turned into huge puddles. I remembered the movie "Stalker".

Only under the canopy of the forest can you still walk through the snow without getting your feet dirty. And in the gully there is almost no snow left, all around-viscous mud. If I didn't have a walking stick, which in some places I had to drive into this mud before each step, I would have drawn a mud path with my fifth point until the day was over. And so it is normal, only the legs after a few hours of this testomeski hurt, and the pants are stained.

Despite the phlegm, there were a lot of insects, and the species composition radically changed compared to the winter one: chironomids flew out, some other small midges flew out, various beetles flew out. But many insects that were most common in January-February: omias, galeruk, kallifor are not visible at all. Also, for the first time in a year, the diversity of arthropods in Balka was significantly higher than in the city near the walls.

The plants are worse: only moss is left of the green in the steppe, and the flowering is exceptional in the front gardens. Bee - only one dead bee in the snow (melifera). And in the old days, at this time, violets and chistyak were already blooming, adonis was blooming, and only memories remained of crocus flowers. And everything was humming.

Yesterday, the temperature record of this spring took place - +11, against the background of rain and thunderstorms. Given that the water was already more than a fig due to the sharp snowmelt, Donetsk was slowly turning into Venice.

Today was great! Although the clouds were moving, but in the gaps between them the sun warmed noticeably. Surprisingly, the mud in the beam has dried up significantly, in some places the surface of the ground does not stick at all. But the rain melted the snow well, even in the forest it remained only on the paths. Various remains emerged from the snow, including almost the entire corpse of a bat. I survived the winter, but I couldn't do it in March.

Finally, the crocuses bloomed, still sparsely and timidly. But at least one has already been pollinated. Thus, the delay in flowering compared to the norm left 3 weeks. Chistyak buds appeared. But the mother-and-stepmother is a little late-not even a trace of her.

Many birds flew in and sang: finches, goldfinches, white wagtails, and elk deer. starlings... Lying on the ground, you can see flocks of sparrows constantly flying across the sky. They're coming from the southeast. And the number of rooks has noticeably decreased. Yes, here Savrasov would have had to paint a famous picture in the fall.

There is no desire or possibility to list the insects encountered. The photos got a lot less than half of them-that's the main sign of spring for me. And the triads there are all sorts of Yakuza...

Yesterday we sailed away, but today winter is back. But I stopped right now at exactly zero degrees. Cloud cover is very dense, in the middle of the day the illumination is as if at dusk. Only at sunset did a few small windows in the clouds break through and the sun came out through one of them for a couple of minutes.

There is no ice. Even the layer that grew on most reservoirs was completely eroded by the rains. The familiar reed warbler (see photo in the next topic with the wrong name) again does not walk on ice, but swims on water, for the company of a recently arrived couple of mallards. There is a massive flight of different finches: finches, finches, oak-noses. Alas, there will be no photos - they are not allowed closer than 50 m. Only sparrows are allowed in, and I had to be content with photographing them. I watched an unsuccessful hunt for them by a sparrowhawk. I was surprised how he "crept up", the sparrows noticed only a fraction of a second before the approach, they managed to rush into the bush, and I noticed even later (already by the reaction of the sparrows) and did not have time to take a picture. Although the frame could have turned out to be steep, the distance was no more than 10 m.

Well, winter has come, frost has struck. The sun gave a farewell light and disappeared into the cloud cover of the coming unknown. When will we see him again? The forecast is not very encouraging. At night it was -6. Day -2, overcast. But yesterday the sun was slightly visible, but not enough for the activity of insects. But I shot a lot of birds that I didn't have in my photos before. Especially curious were the kinglets-they run through the snow in the thick grass like mice, and also squeak. I imagined them quite differently, based on literary descriptions as inhabitants of the upper tier of coniferous forest, very rarely descending to the ground Now only the wren remains to be found.

But I didn't see any pyzhikovs in Pan Stepovoi's photos, although they let me get as close as sparrows. In theory, Pan and his Tair should have taken a picture of them in such a way that the cilia could be counted. And it was also unexpectedly discovered that wads are very useful because they very willingly eat ragweed and cyclachena seeds

Today, contrary to all forecasts, there were several perfectly clear hours in the middle of the day. During the morning, a hybrid of frost and ice had grown on the trees, and for the first two hours of sunny weather, the whole thing began to fall off, including on my head. Despite the sun, the air did not warm up above +2. So no anomalies, December is like December. But thanks to the complete calm, the cold did not press very hard. The soil began to dry up in some places, which did not slow down to affect the activity of insects, which was much more than yesterday. The migration of passerine birds continues, this time I was caught by a flock of linnets. I did not immediately recognize their males in autumn attire, it is amazing how much it differs from the bright spring one. I wonder how they do it: do they really shed twice a year? Our other birds don't seem to have a similar phenomenon. The finch's beak turns gray during the mating season, but that doesn't count.
