А.Ю.Г., 25.08.2018 11:44
Colleagues, good day to all.
I have been working on weevils in the South of Russia for many years.
I am now actively collecting data on the distribution of the weevil Alcidodes karelini (Boheman, 1844) in the southern European part of Russia.
This beetle is trofically related to the field bindweed Convollium arvense.
The plant is quite widespread, most often found on bare areas of roadsides.
There is an assumption that roads determine the distribution of this type of weevil and its rather rapid progress to the north. Initially, the range was limited to Transcaucasia and some mountainous regions of Central Asia.
The beetle is clearly visible on a field bindweed plant, relatively large (0.5 cm) and perfectly visible when it is inside the flower.
Any information that is verbal or / or documented by photographs is important.
I will be grateful to everyone who responded.
I will also be grateful to those people who want to cooperate on a permanent basis, leaving their contribution to science, sharing their photos and field collections on weevils in the South of Russia. All materials will be carefully processed, systematized with the preservation of all copyright data, and sent to the central universities of the country.
