Who is it? Found on February 3, Ufa, new private house, soft to the touch. Is it harmful?

Callidium violaceum (Linnaeus, 1758) - flat purple barbel. Technical pest of wood, mainly from unrooted softwood lumber (for example, attic floors, beams, etc.).

Really?! Got it wrong, thanks. Rather, I have never seen a male Hylotrupes bajulus (I don't even have a female in my collection). Thank you, I'll know. beer.gif

Found in Kuyurgazinsky district, Bashkiria, at the end of October,
deciduous mostly oak forest, birch, bird cherry, linden, ash shrubs are found. In the lower layer there is a lot of dead wood, thickets of ferns, mosses and lichens on the dead wood and the bases of trunks. Beetles were found inside a tinder mushroom on the trunk of a rotten (but not fallen)tree birch trees. The fungus also turned to rot, most likely due to the activity of these beetles, since no beetles were found in neighboring mushrooms and the mushrooms are not rotten. All the beetles are dead. In the same fungus, 4 larvae were found, possibly of the same species.
