Colleagues, please help!!! mol.gif
Something completely confused me with these staphylinids. Can you tell me at least a group of births...
Both Yaroslavl region. the first forest, the second reeds on the swampy shore.
Characteristic features of both: the penultimate segment of the maxillary palps is swollen, the last one is tiny, awl-shaped. Pronotum is densely dotted with a smooth longitudinal stripe...
The first 11 mm, the second-9 mm
Reached where I was stupid wall.gif
I tried to identify it by "Polish".
picture: 1.jpg
1-Lathrobium brunnipes or unicolored L. elongatum. I didn't understand about the "black bristles" on the sternites of the abdomen that are present in elongatum and absent in brunnipes... I attach a photo picture: 1_1.jpg
picture: 2.jpg
2. Tetartopeus rufonitidus (Reitter, 1909) (=fennicus Renkonen, 1938), if I have understood the genitalia correctly... photo here picture: 2_1.jpg

1. Lathrobium brunnipes, males have characteristic indentations on the sternites (as in the photo)
2. Tetartopeus rufonitidus/quadratus. Maybe experts will tell you for sure (for me, so you need to completely pull out and study the genitals)

The Atheta beetles are not to be trifled with. You need good photos (pubescence, dotted lines, etc.). There are a couple of options, but this is unreliable.

Blaps halophila (Fischer von Waldheim, 1822). That this beast is strong, I agree! But I doubt about it.) smile.gif

Yes, about 6 mm I somehow missed), I agree, rather Sphaeridium, but then it's difficult to determine the type just from the photo.

Yes, not rather, but definitely Sphaeridium. Another thing is that to determine their appearance from a photo is to guess on coffee grounds, if not to say hoosiers. wink.gif
And Anacaena limbata is not only smaller, it is completely different: http://assazhnev.narod.ru/anacaena.html

Judging by its size and shoulder spots, it is Sphaeridium lunatum, a female. With the previous spheridium, I'm not sure, except that it's a male.
