Traditional view-yes, this is croceus. But no one will say exactly on science - the issue of this jaundice has not yet been resolved (see the posts above).

Then be so kind, dear forum participants-please confirm or deny the signatures (I specifically removed them) under similar copies!
These photos are from my old collection, which is currently unavailable. It was collected by me at our CMS, but I don't remember the dates either, and I don't remember the biotope. frown.gif

As far as I know, the main external distinguishing feature of them is the presence of light veins in croceus on the dark marginal border of the forewings (in males). Erate does not have such light streaks. Also, erate is a lighter yellow color than croceus. Based on this, my personal IMHO is that the butterfly on the right is exactly erate, and on the left is either croceus, or a transitional form that they form together.

Leningrad region, end of July.
[attachmentid()=232132]
Leningradskaya Kukulia does not correspond to Artemisia. Compare it yourself. Below, in Volynkin's photo, is the real aremisa. The upper butterfly is probably the Lindeae.
[attachmentid()=232148]
I returned home, got to the collection, began to compare and there were doubts. Maybe such artemisia. It is advisable to cook this female.

Alexander thank you very much, I found this article here too.
Still, I am alarmed by the color of the wings of my copy and those given in the article. Without signs of a pinkish tinge, the median stripe is obvious and the wing pattern is reticulated. In worn copies of kostjukorum, as I could understand, the wing color is more monotonous and the band is weakly expressed.
And what can we say about other types smile.gif

To be honest, in the article the signs are painfully relative, and the authors often talk about the run-up of signs. I couldn't do it and got confused in the groups of het, bristles and hairs. I'll leave it under striata with a question for now :-)

But the puzzle is more interesting. Strangely, I didn't find any photos of male Carposina niponensis genitalia.

On the wings of butterflies tufts of white hairs. It's a pity the copy is broken and there is a lot of glue, but here are the genitals (while a temporary drug)...

I'm afraid I didn't take it, as the German site gave me confidence that it was striana, they have a photo of a similar copy.

Yes, sexual dimorphism, males with a white spot, females of the same color.
