And this is an objective reality. Do you know an anecdote about an optimist, a pessimist, and a realist?

Guest, what makes you think that an amateur must necessarily know the field worse than a professional? Why don't you allow such an amateur who lives on the topic, communicates in the scientific community, and earns money, for example, which is now almost not paid for entomology in our country, in a different way?

Dear Guest, maybe you should re-register again? Still, in my opinion, it is not entirely correct to remain incognito for so long. If you are an old member, then you will probably be remembered by old-timers of the forum.

Dear omar, It's like looking into water. For example, I earn money differently now, but I spend it on entomology (from expeditions to determining the sequence of nucleotides in DNA). And a professional in my understanding is not a person professionally wiping his pants or skirt at the table assigned to the entomologist according to the staffing table, but a person who spends all his mental energy to thoroughly understand the subject under discussion (in literary sources, factual material + necessary research methods).
In general, I am tired of proving that I am not a camel and not the enemy of everyone here. Adieu.

I would not say that the definition of genitals is not interesting! On the contrary-very much, but I can't pull out the genitals myself. So I took phragmatobia fuliginosa and pulled out her genitals-the genitals are large and hard - everything came out.. But it's not important to me.. With leptidaeks it was different - no matter how much I tried to tear out, I only spoiled the copies.. None of them managed to pull out, not even that it's normal, but in general frown.gif

As Mr. Bolivar correctly said: I'm still a schoolboy.. I try to pull out all the knowledge that I can, but so far not everything is possible frown.gifAnd I need time for this.. I slowly take up books, but I also have very little time to read, so I crawl here longer than a snail..

Still, no matter what kind of professional it is , it is always better to check by using qualifiers or images on the Internet at the very least. For example, with one staff that I found in an anthill - I would never have taken it up without the help of a specialist, or at least someone who understands a little. But I posted it here and I was prompted by the genus and approximate type - I looked at the pictures in Google-the genus is the same, opened the green one - looked at the view. Everything, the circle narrows and now I have more knowledge, and then it becomes more and more interesting - to comprehend further and further.
Super complex questions are unlikely to be solved here (although?), but for the appearance of an entry level, for the transition from low to medium, and so on - this is the most important thing.
In addition, thanks to all this, I have already found some types of insects that I have not met before due to ignorance of neither animals nor their habitats, and so on, etc..

There is no need to rush, the request has been sent to the editor.

Colleagues, where did this often quite aggressive juxtaposition of professionals and amateurs come from? surely everyone knows examples of brilliant specialists who formally remained amateurs all their lives! Other examples are not uncommon - kbn, dbn, with a tortured dissertation, a person for whom science is only a feeder. Now we have much less of them - the feed resource is gone. I think that to a large extent the reason for the current disasters of science in Russia is precisely the cultivation of the idea of isolation of "big, fundamental" science from reality. That is, a significant part of the population gets the impression that they are engaged in all sorts of clever things there and eat people's bread for nothing... On the other hand, there is an answer: there is no need to throw beads in front of pigs and profane people... Sadly. from my point of view, we, specialists, are OBLIGED to advise interested people and spread knowledge.

kbn, n. s. ZIN RAS.

PS. By the way, I can't register in any way. The system claims that it already has one Brandashmyg. But, in my opinion, this is my registration and is! Anyhow, no other Brandashmyg's I did not observe on the forum. I wrote an email to the admin, but didn't get a response...

I don't remember the registration time and password anymore (it's a sin), but the name matches...
