I remembered catching grasshoppers as a child. So, occasionally, in addition to gray and green variations of verrucivorus, there were bright maroon ones. Is this some kind of local mutation? Did anyone else see them at all?

Location: Kostroma region, Solonitsa river.
Time: early 90's

Plain maroon-no, I didn't see any. With a solid admixture of reddish elements in the color-yes, there were. In general, it would be very interesting to do the phenetics of coloring a gray grasshopper.

I came across different ones... And yellow and pink and bright red and burgundy, once caught a blacksmith with a blue side. I have it in my collection now. I only didn't see the orange ones, I think I learned about them from your early photos in the content of erect wings.
