The catalog (volume 5) lists the synonym Hypophlaeus for the subgenus Corticeus.
Then, for species, the original genus is indicated in two variants with the letters a/o.

This is a typo (which option is then correct), or both names are in use and these are really different things.
In the Catalog of life, Hypophloeus seems to be listed as an actual genus with one species.
