Question about equipment from Thailand

Community and ForumEntomological collectionsQuestion about equipment from Thailand

I have a question for those who have been to Thailand.

Is there anything useful from entomological equipment in Thailand that would be worth buying because of the favorable price, for example, or more favorable quality?
Pins, straighteners, dies, and so on.

This question is related to the fact that my son went there on vacation for 2 weeks and could buy me something if it made sense.

If so, please tell me the address of such a store in Bangkok.

Due to the fact that this topic will be relevant for me only in the next 2 weeks, this IMHO branch can be deleted, at the discretion of a respected moderator.

Thank You

Ehhh! It is a pity, Irina, that your son is not in Taiwan. Right now, you could grab Malaise's traps on the cheap...

When I was there, I didn't find anything. Even books, although they are presented online. The people there are simple and make do with improvised means smile.gif

Last year, in Chang Mai, in a large bookstore called D. K. Book (I think in the second-hand literature department), I saw several books about butterflies in Thailand and neighboring countries. I think it makes sense to search for the same store in Bangkok

On www.entosphinx.cz/ they are about 10 times cheaper..

Well, first of all, not at all 10 times.

And, secondly, they are short and it is inconvenient to use them in the steppe or tundra conditions - unlike malezs from the Taiwanese site, which have an elastic frame that keeps its shape perfectly (like modern tourist tents); for example: http://bugdorm.megaview.com.tw/ez-migratio...-one-p-177.html

Question to my colleagues: is it possible to order similar Maleza traps cheaper and closer somewhere?

400 bucks... you can't get away from this one for sure, they will work out in a couple of seconds wink.gif

And who needs it?smile.gif Or "everything will fit on the farm"?

Our people are such that they simply can't pass by an unattended item. Stick everything, even the yellow cups. And even a couple of square meters of excellent gas quality can always be attached to the farm (nakomarniki, mosquito nets, a sieve for expressing caviar, etc.). There are enough cases. And I liked the design, you can mount it very quickly, and you don't need to look for any sticks to cut down. But here's the price... who would give wink.gifit to you
