While reading about the preparation of permanent preparations of small diptera in Canadian balsam, I came across the use of creosot (Kreosot) at the end of wiring through alcohols to dehydrate and further enlighten the material. Has anyone tried using creosote, is it good and necessary?
Where can I buy creosote now and what kind of beech is needed?
