user posted imageDaytime Peacock's eye (Inachis io). The family of Nymphalids is Nymphalidae. A small butterfly (with a wingspan of 4-5 cm) is found in meadows, along roadsides, and often in cities. The caterpillar is black, with small white spots and branched spines, and feeds on nettle leaves. The butterfly hatches in the second half of summer, and overwintered individuals appear in April-May.

I wouldn't call it a small butterfly. For the middle zone of Russia, it is rather big.

Well, I'll add its caterpillar here for completeness.

Wow, the butterfly is one of the most beautiful, and the theme was barely found, and there are few photos.
