Species of the genus Chorthippus-inhabitants of the thickness of the herbaceous cover - are real hortobionts, they eat a large set of both cereals and mixed grasses. Males lure females to the sounds of the mating song. Some of the sounds of locusts are in the ultrasonic range and are inaccessible to the human ear.
The picture was taken in the Astrakhan region.
