Golden bronzer (Cetonia aurata)
Bronzovka belongs to the family of plate-whiskered beetles. The length of this beetle is 15-20 mm. It is found throughout Europe, in the Crimea, in the Caucasus, in Kazakhstan and in Siberia.
One of the most common beetles in the Moscow region. You can meet it here from mid-May to September.
The bronzer has a very maneuverable flight. This beetle, unlike most others, does not raise its elytra in flight, thereby giving the best aerodynamic qualities to its body. The larvae of this species of bronzer often feed on rotten wood.
Bronzovka zolotoy does not belong to harmful insects, although its appearance in gardens is undesirable, because, like most bronzovka, it eats flowers, including fruit crops: apple, cherry, plum, etc.
The color scheme of bronzes is green-metallic with a red tint, and some forms are blue. In the Moscow region, the green-metallic form is more common, but the shades are so diverse that it is very difficult to find two identical beetles.
