australia goldilocks continent
try to look for them on tree trunks they are safe and do not stink

I'll go to Google now, ask who the zlatki are. We'll search in the trees. smile.gif

20.03.2010 3:56, Ele-W

Ele, well, you don't want to notice Australian beetles at close range!!! weep.gif I can't believe you don't meet them...

I already have an inferiority complex with these beetles-I'm maniacally chasing everything that buzzed by. shuffle.gif But they are really not enough, you can believe it. For a week and a half in the bush, I saw a barbel that skilfully hid behind a tree trunk like a cloaked lizard, and then tried to fly away, so I followed it through the long grass like your kenuguru. One sane frame.

UPD
This is a bug (kraevik of some kind?).

That's all. I didn't see anything else worthy of attention. Small gray beetles that fly to the light of the lantern, as I already said, I technically can not remove, and during the day - there are no beetles.

It is possible that the beetles should be purposefully searched for - under the bark or somewhere else, but here I pass, I have absolutely no time for this, only if something comes across along the way. smile.gif

I looked at the goldsmiths. I have seen beetles of this shape, but rather small and black, they sometimes fly into the house in the evening, if the mosquito nets are not closed. I've never seen any beautiful ones-painted ones.

This is a bug you have (kraevik some?). Don't worry-you'll find out more. smile.gif

Yes, now in my mind Australia from the point of view of entomofauna is a continent of bedbugs and butterflies! wink.gif smile.gif
But this is all a joke. But seriously-thank you, Ele, for the beautiful photos! smile.gif

Thank you for the beautiful photos!

And the tropics during the day really give the impression of a desert, in terms of insects, of course.

The bug again??? I have the impression that here is some kind of bedbug (bedbug) edge. As soon as I catch a " bug " in the frame, it's always a bug. lol.gif

They, unfortunately, flutter very quickly and do not let you get close to them at all.

I already have a similar impression, minus the butterflies, which just somehow flew en masse this year. smile.gif And so-bedbugs, bedbugs, bedbugs... lol.gifBut this, of course, is not the whole of Australia, but only our far North, we have a specific climate here. Apparently, it is very suitable for bedbugs. smile.gif

I sacrificed myself and spent two nights and three hours under a motel light. I took pictures of EVERYONE who came to the light, from large butterflies to small bumblebees of an unidentified design. After that, for several days I constantly felt that someone was crawling on me. lol.gif

If there are no beetles there, then I just don't know where they get them on this planet! smile.gif

The pictures will be available tomorrow or the day after.

Let's wait. If now there is no beetle on the half-palm of your hand, then take out at least rabbits or kangaroos, and you can also have a parake

And I didn't have time at all with the pictures of midges from the trip, so now I'll show them only after returning. But goodews - I'm going to a place where a lot of insects are expected, maybe if I'm lucky, I'll bring something interesting. smile.gif I'll be back in two and a half weeks.

In the meantime, yesterday on the balcony I saw ants dragging food. They work very well together, quickly drag, smoothly...

And then they dragged the loot to the next balcony along the horizontal wall. I was always afraid that they would drop it, no, they would finish it safe and sound. Of course, it's not easy to take pictures with your hand, you have to be quite a bird, but you can get an idea of the wall...

The first seasonal fires have started in the forest, but nature is quickly recovering, as it is still only a "cool burn". Fresh cobwebs on a burnt palm tree.

This year we have a lot (by local standards) of butterflies. Here are the yellow ones that fly in the city and on campsites, where ornamental shrubs bloom. I didn't see them in the woods or in the bush.

The beetles are dead. They were dragged somewhere by ants, so they had to be taken away. They're too beautiful to give to ants.

UPD
This is a shiny wasp.

Wow! It looks like two beetles. smile.gif

I brought this wasp home, then I'll shoot it slowly with a good light, I'll try to see the wasp and not "two beetles". redface.gif

Thanks!

Yes, I found a very large dried beetle in the Umbrawarra Gorgeshuffle.gif. I was just sitting on a rock and complaining to others about the lifelessness of the Australian land, and then-bam, I see HIM. The surrounding people were impressed and decided that this was a gift from local spirits. lol.gif

I've never seen such a monster alive. smile.gif
