It's even strange somehow: I didn't find a topic on real barbel beetles here.
So I have to fill in this gap.
I start the topic with the male of this exotic barbel:
Plocaederus obesus Gahan, 1890
Thailand, Nachon Ratchasima, Hong Bun Nak h=200m. Leg. A.V. Korshunov.
Unfortunately, this beetle is the only one in my collection from this tribe: therefore, I ask you to support the topic further.

It is better to place everything in one topic.

Yes, I've seen it, but it's painfully "in a heap" everything is piled up. I wanted it separately for genera: Cerambyx, Neocerambyx, Hoplocerambyx, etc.

Well, then, as the public decides.
In the meantime, I'll drop off our usual barbel Cerambyx scopolii Fuesslins, 1775
Lviv region, Yavoriv district, Stradch village ROC, on beech logs, 29. V. 07

Ruslan, Thank You! That's exactly what I meant. Unfortunately, I do not find them in the Moscow region (although I have heard that scopolii seems to be likely to be found here) confused.gif.

Well, we do not have beech and hornbeam, but willow and oak are present in abundance (only there is no beetle). Apparently, you can't count on M. O. weep.gifeither .

It can't be helped. Each taxon at the edge of its range is rare. And somewhere it is common. smile.gif we need to search.
Here, for example, Cychrus attenuatus attenuatus (Fabricius, 1792) is located at the very edge of its range. Caught only once.I've been looking for it for 5 years - I found a point - I caught it with a lot of money.

In Scopoli, the peak of activity occurs somewhere in late May or early June.

Okay, correcting yourself (in the sense of ending the flood), and in order to revive the topic:

Hornbeam in a piece of iron is, but in the form of shrunken trunks, frozen or devoured, remnants of the former splendor of Soviet times. In live form, only shoots are found, but rarely. It will be necessary to search in the spring, you just need to remember where these sushins are.

The topic is good, but in my opinion it is necessary either to transfer to Cerambycinae varia or to sort out all the topics about barbels by tribes, who will only do this.

Well, it's more likely somewhere artificially planted. You should not count on the presence of C. scopoli there (I have already searched everything since childhood).

Gradually it is formed and it is not necessary to combine them with anyone, but leave them as they are. I made a theme for this tribe. These barbels are worthy of a separate topic.

PS So far I have not found this species on my own in the Vladimir and Moscow regions frown.gif
Either it is extremely rare in our country, or it is narrow-minded. Or even mentions of its presence in my region are nothing more than rumors, alas.......
