On January 9, 2009, an outstanding Russian biologist, known for his classic works in the field of neuroethology and bioacoustics of insects, Doctor of Biological Sciences, member of several foreign academies Andrey Vladimirovich Popov, died after a serious long illness. I worked under him for more than 15 years, and he was an outstanding scientist and a good person. Bright memory to him!
