Hello forumchane! Question on the Far East. The trip is planned for the end of June. How do I get or rather get the equipment on the plane? This means ether, ammonia, syringes, drl, wires, nets. And how do I get the fees back ? The trip is not cheap, at least for me, so please share your information, entomologist Brothers!

I don't see any point in bringing along ammonia and syringes. buy ammonia at the pharmacy on the spot, there are also syringes . drl - also, and wires. all this can then be thrown out on the spot (it doesn't cost much, it's pointless to carry it around). put your equipment in your luggage. on the way back, you also put your fees there.

This year, all of the above equipment was safely transported in the luggage. Fees - bags, preferably in hand luggage, and mattresses in hard boxes in luggage. Everything is quietly exported. The main thing is that it fits. The lamps, of course, were not brought back.

And ethyl acetate, in your luggage or in the form of mineral water in your hands? What's the deadline?

07.10.2010 15:15, rhopalocera.com

In luggage, ethyl acetate travels normally. Although, again, you can buy on the spot in the form of nail polish remover. If your beetles will smell like chamomile-it's nice wink.gif

07.10.2010 15:37, captolabrus

Yes, I'd rather be clean, especially not to keep a couple of liters forever, when you need to spend it. June that in Primorye catchy or how lucky?

07.10.2010 16:52, captolabrus

And one more question. where does it make sense to go, to the tropics or to Primorye, based on the amount spent on a seaside trip? Please forgive me in advance if the question does not seem correct. The collection is supposed to be mass, that is, soil traps, mowing, night fishing, etc. And I would like to have the most productive trip possible.

You will die if you catch beetles and butterflies day and night...and then process it all.And you won't catch the most interesting part anyway, because you didn't come here for any reason.Set your priorities!

07.10.2010 18:42, captolabrus

You're wrong, I'm not going to die.And I'm not rich enough to pay 60-70 grand for a couple of rare species. Besides, I'm not going alone. tongue.gif

how lucky and depending on where to catch, and so in general, the end of June and July are the most catchy. I have a drosel with wires there, if I get through to them, I can use it if you come to Pokrovka for them)))I plan to go there myself in August.

Yes, not the right word, so without vaccination-pipe.

Approximately 15-20 days. and vaccinations against tick-borne encephalitis?

Please tell me what is the most interesting thing there, and what does it mean to process? Pack them in mattresses and envelopes?,or what?Thank you in advance for your guidance wink.gif

07.10.2010 20:38, slava penza

I did it for the first time, and then I scored, although the phenomenon exists(encephalitis), but it is rare if there is a possibility to do it. 15-20 days is not enough))) only the taste will enter)))

07.10.2010 20:42, captolabrus

A maximum of a month, and even then if you fake the disease. Work within the framework of the project. In addition to the tick, there seems to be nothing terrible there?

07.10.2010 20:51, slava penza

I'm not really a specialist in the insects of Primorye, I know some good places, I'm more interested in the fauna of other places, but it's cool there, take everything in a row!

07.10.2010 20:53, slava penza

and there is also a sea with picturesque beaches and most importantly beautiful girls, I think it would not hurt to cut a couple of days for this))), although the velvet season there is still in August)))

vaccination from the bear is necessary))) there are a lot of them there))), but seriously create more noise in the forest around you, I have met them more than once

in the hills, cannabis is grown in some places and protected, I came across this.

07.10.2010 21:35, mikee

Yes, that's not the right word, so without vaccination-a pipe.

In July of this year, none of the three of us (mikee, sdi, kazax) ever saw a single tick. And not a single bear:- ) Just listened to stories about them and more about tigers. Ticks were said to be found on passes and in the taiga higher than we were in Anisimovka. But vaccination is desirable, especially if you go in May-June. According to local estimates, it helps in 20-30% of cases of bites. But the course of the disease is easier.

07.10.2010 21:38, mikee

You didn't see it yourself, but the owner of the bungalow in Anisimovka (Sergey Shestakov) warned about this and did not recommend going into the taiga. Moreover, according to our impressions, there is nothing to do there - the whole butterfly is in open places and roads.

07.10.2010 21:41, mikee

I'll try to take everything that comes across.

Make no mistake, in a week you will switch to the "we only take fillets" optionsmile.gif, especially if you catch everything in a row both day and night. You were correctly warned above.

You can't carry liquids in your hands right now. If they find ethyl acetate in your hand luggage, they can also remove it from the plane. all in the luggage!!!

Horseradish there that you can buy at a minimum distance from Vladivostok. Or the amount of time spent searching for duda is unacceptable. In Vityaz, we were asked to leave the DRL, because there it is a rare thing. I recommend carrying everything with you, except for the generator. Far from populated areas, it flies well even on energy-saving light bulbs, but DRL is DRL. However, the split version did not show any advantages.
A liter of ethyl acetate safely flew in the luggage to the Far East from Moscow...

the plane will land in the new taiga. and even at the airport there should be a pharmacy. from the airport, you can still go to the city (bus station, railway station). so I think pharmacies will definitely be within reach smile.gif.

Well, first of all, we, for example, went straight from the airport to Anisimovka, bypassing Vladik. Kazax-by bus to Spassk-Dalny, also passing by. At the airport itself, you can't buy anything but sim cards and red caviar... Secondly, syringes, for example, are sold in pharmacies in the Moscow region with a big squeak due to drug addiction. Honestly, in an unfamiliar area it is always difficult to find anything other than vodka and bread smile.gif

in the luggage on the way back, fees in the bottom of the backpack, on top of all the dirty and smelly clothes, from Norilsk this year I was carrying several minerals, the X-ray detected them, the riot started, after I opened the backpack, their desire was immediately discouraged))) and at the borders, it sometimes saved. and so for butterflies there should be nothing the country is one)))

I am a proponent of "carrying everything with you". A plastic bottle with ethyl acetate and five syringes will not really weigh down your luggage. For saving you time, which is usually not enough. Last year we ran out of acetic acid in Abkhazia, so we ran away from all the shops, collecting 1-2 bottles each. The shops are small, scattered, and the delivery is small. We lost a lot of time.

Yeah.
You should also take ammonia with you. In 2006, I tried to buy extra packs of ammonia in a pharmacy in Vladivostok, so I was told that "if you find ammonia anywhere in the city, please let us know, we will also buy it."

Take poison, lamps, and other offal, pack them safely in your luggage, and don't worry.

I ALWAYS take everything with smile.gifme . Of course, you can buy lamps in Vladik, but you need to know exactly "WHERE", otherwise there will be hemorrhoids. And sometimes you can't buy ammonia in St. Petersburg right away, so you have to run around. I carry the lamps in my hand luggage, never had any problems. The rest is in your luggage. Good luck!

Lamps are also in the luggage!Especially if it is of the DRV or DRL type. The theme is almost the same as with bottled liquids. They don't particularly bother with mercury vapors or not-white and large-you can't.

With chokes, too, do not climb into the plane. In Chiang Mai, security guards at the entrance to the airport opened their eyes when they were asked to show "what do I have there?"Heavy, iron and wires stick out.

I don't know, in 2005 and 2008 I bought ammonia in the village of Pokrovka, without any problems, and the DRL lamp in Ussuriysk at the market opposite the bus station(its own was covered), there were also throttles. well, since there are sometimes problems with this, it's better to take your own.

Yes, there was also a joke at the Bangkok airport-Papis picked up fresh giant prawns and crabs for the museum at the market. At the airport, they specifically began to stink. The queue for registration specifically oofigevala.I was choking with laughter. When Papis dropped his backpack on the counter, the staff was already startled. And foolishly asked to open and show.Papis is a nice guy, he immediately opened his backpack and the god of stink broke free.I thought that the people would go to sleep, but it was a paralytic stupor.I was having so much fun and laughing like an idiot. It was funny that the display board with prohibited items was flashing above the counter.Durian blinked separately. But durian wasn't even close to the toxicosis Papis was carrying.Naive Thais began to pull on their cotton gauze...Holy naivete. The queue dispersed to the exit of the airport. That left Papis and me and a few (probably with a cold) Thais. We held a consultation. The stench was beginning to sting.People from the next queue for Hong Kong also decided not to fly and crawled to the exit.Papis was unperturbed and didn't want to part with the copies. The future business class client somehow aroused the respect of the staff and it was decided to seal the entire backpack with a film. The stench seemed to have subsided and people began to return to the counters.
I'm watching the news right now.So far, there have been no reports of corpses or a biological attack in Moscow.
