I wonder if any of the entomologists are interested in sports. At least as a fan. To be honest, for several years of communicating with colleagues at conferences, congresses and other events, I only once met a young man from Kiev who is fond of football. We even watched a couple of matches together on TV while we were in Moscow for a symposium on smartphones. However, after a while he gave up entomology.
As a resident of Vladivostok, I am not at all spoiled by sports shows of the highest level, and being on business trips, I try in every possible way to fill this gap. But going to sports alone is boring. In St. Petersburg, for example, friends who have no idea about entomology, but understand sports, help out. But I don't have such friends in Moscow. That's all there is to it. On September 24, Lokomotiv-Rubin, and on September 27, CSKA-Inter. I will be in Moscow at this time and I want to go to a soccer game. Can someone make a company? wink.gif

I also like football most of all from big sports, I follow the performances of the Russian national team, Russian teams in European cups, in the Premier League. I support FC Rubin. In my spare time, I go to the gym. This is mostly in winter. Well, in the summer, the best fitness is walking and running for butterflies in the forest.

Rugby is a sport for real men. On September 9, the World Cup starts in New Zealand. Russia will participate for the first time.

I'd love to keep entomologists and football players company. I love football myself and try not to miss the games of our clubs. And especially our national team. But unfortunately, I need to finish the summer season, because the entoseason (field season) is already over for me.

Haka that only costs goosebumps...

First rugby match - New Zealand - Tonga. Two hacks at once. In general, haka is also performed by Fiji and Samoa.

in connection with the topic of a funny story. Since I am an employee of the botanical garden, I communicate with botanists for obvious reasons. Nerd as an offensive nickname is not very suitable for the bulk of my colleagues and friends-here are just powerful guys, and kms in judo and just fans of fighting.
On one of my expeditions to the Ukok Plateau, my friend Sergey Smirnov (who is also hardly a botanist) looked around and saw the following picture. A dozen foreheads with oblique fathoms in their shoulders pluck flowers, sniff them, look into the corollas, and talk peacefully about something. And in the background, a fragile virgin geographer from Moscow - Katya kaylom hammers permafrost punching another pit. According to my friend , this was the moment when he experienced the most acute shame in his life. smile.gif

I've loved hockey since I was a kid.
I grew up watching Krylia Sovetov matches.

Here, only sad news came from Yaroslavl. What a team it was!

Well, yes, there is evidence that while living in Berlin-worked as a tennis coach and.... boxing.
IMHO, tennis in" lepidopterological sports training " rules smile.gif

Well, litre o ball is a child of the pathetic ALIA, but litre ball is a worthy sport included in the program of both the summer and winter Paralympic Games.

I was doing a lot of karate. I've been riding my bike every day for the last 5 years. of the achievements, 350 km per day. 78 km at -25 s. since September 1, I also went to kickboxing-3 training sessions per week. and football? may the fans forgive me, but to paraphrase Hotabych - when 20 men run after one ball-it's at least strangewink.gif, but no offense plz

09.09.2011 11:58, Victor Gazanchidis

Oh, martial arts come on! I'm also a fan of them, for more than 20 years already, with breaks for litrabol and smile.gifKms boxing. Now I do karate, a friend invited me to his group to try it a year and a half ago, I liked it.
To AGG
What kind of karate did you do?

09.09.2011 14:06, AGG

shotokan karate. but unfortunately, we were taught kyokushin everywhere and when we were put on competitions, we were disqualified in full force "for the rigidity of combat" because we were taught to work "in the head" with our hands, and in kyokushin, head work only with the foot and no protection from the hands. such people, if they were only doing this, are fun to watch on the street, when they stand with their hands down while their noses are broken and their teeth are taken out wink.gif
chota krovozhadnenko poluchilos

09.09.2011 14:29, Victor Gazanchidis

This is true. But if you allow your hands to hit the head, they will fall often, the danger to the health of athletes is great, the tk of gloves is either not present at all or hard. Then you need to wear helmets, or softer gloves, and this is kickboxing or kudo. As for the street, you probably know, there is a completely different technique.

What about Sho? Anything is more useful than running around a damp field.

Entomology itself is a pure all-around exercise (especially the search and collection process) smile.gif
Okay: I'll go now and take up litrball: I already trained yesterday beer.gif

Can I create a topic called "Entomology and alcohol"?

05.10.2011 5:17, cichrus

Certainly, nothing unites people in the professional environment and beyond as much as litreball...
