Genotyping of insects

Friends, does anyone here do insect genotyping?
I'm interested in fleas.
A job on the genetic analysis of flea cytochromes turned up, and immediately some questions arose: I actually only dealt with prokarytic organisms before.
On sequences of fleas of the same species, I observe heterozygotes.
Is this even possible!? It seems that, simply put, the mitochondrial genome is from my mother and it is haploid!

Contact Doctor of Biological Sciences Boris Vitalievich Stradomsky (bora on the forum) - this is one of the few specialists in the molecular systematics and biochemistry of insect cNA who are engaged in research in this area, and not in bare computer cladism.
