Colleagues, good afternoon!
I'm not sure if I chose the right theme, but still.
A colleague from the UK, Alan Stewart, asked me a question.
He is interested in information about Doratura impudica in Russia and neighboring countries-its range, habitat, host plant, whether a full-winged (macroptera) form of imago has ever been recorded? Any other information on the ecology of this species. (see the email below). If someone has an info card, please write to me or directly to them (in English: a.j.a.stewart@sussex.ac.uk)
thank you!
May I ask a favour in return, please? I have been doing a small project over the last two years on Doratura impudica, a very scarce species on Britain. Do you have any information about this species in Russia or neighbouring countries? I am particularly interested to collate information on locations where it has been found, to provide better detail than just the list of countries provided in Nast (1987). Additionally, do you have any information about habitat type and host plant? - in Britain, it seems to be confined to the seaward edge of coastal sand dunes and feeds exclusively on Elymus farctus (=Elytrigia juncea = Agropyron junceiforme). Finally, do you know if macropterous forms of this species have ever been recorded? I would be most grateful for any of this information, or any other details you have about its general ecology. Thank you very much.
Alan Stewart
