I'm in Sevastopol. Tell me, please, the habitats in the Crimea of various beetles. Interested in bronzes, other plates, barbels, carabuses.

I would say that they live EVERYWHERE in the Crimea...)))

But seriously, from Sevastopol, you can take a closer trip to the vicinity of Bakhchisaray, or Mangup-Kale, or Eski-Kermen, or Sokolinoye. And in Sevastopol and the surrounding area (for example, in the Cossack Bay), the Crimean ground beetle and many other carabids live.

I put the glasses on the Crimean ground beetle. And where are found Netocia hungarica, Cetonishema speciosa, Phyllognatus excavatus.

It is widely known that the Crimean ground beetle (like other proceruses) does not fall into glasses (with or without bait). It's easier to find them crawling on the road, for example.
Netocia hungarica is easier to find in steppe areas, on inflorescences of compound flowers. Cetonishema speciosa is caught on traps with fermenting liquid, Phyllognatus excavatus flies to the light.

19.06.2012 19:46, Kemist

What are the known locations for speciosa?

20.06.2012 18:50, Kemist

Procerus hit a glass of vinegar

20.06.2012 23:22, Dergg

Well, apparently, the procerus family is not without a "freak" smile.gif

However, you did your best to ensure that the genes of such small-minded specimens were culled from the gene pool of the percentage population, and the frequency of such finds was even closer to zero umnik.gif

Not everything that is written in books is absolutely true - it is so dry that it has come to wetness.

22.06.2012 12:15, Dergg

About the dislike of proceruses to soil traps-this is not learned from books, but rather from the stories of eyewitnesses. In particular, they wrote about this here on the forum. But, of course, there are exceptions to any rule.

The second much smaller procerus was caught during manual assembly. Alas, the bronzes are tight here - aurats are at every turn, and there are no other bronzes. I really ask, dear colleagues, please tell me the coordinates/times/fishing conditions of other bronzes than Aurat that live in the Crimea.

it seems to me more difficult to catch a special fly in the Crimea than in the Caucasus... you may be a little comforted by P. cuprina, they should be caught, at least in crown traps. In general, local Purpuricenus caucasicus may well fly to kronki - that would be great!
of the not-so-bad carabuses, I caught local C. perrini in the Alushta area, they ran right in the forest along with C. gyllenhali, but somehow more locally

Isn't there even an oxytail or a pathway? smile.gif
According to literature data, there is a special disease in the Crimea, but less often than in the Caucasus. I think that the greatest probability of catching it is in the forests on the southern coast of the Crimea, on crown traps with wine, beer, etc. They can also be attended by Kuprina and affinis. If in the first days nothing came to these traps, do not despair, the longer the trap hangs, the stronger the liquid ferments in it,and the higher its attractiveness.
In sunny weather, in suitable places, vines fly in the crowns of trees, but even with a long-handled net, it is difficult to catch them.

Yesterday Ropalopus clavipes, Capnodis tenebrionis.

29.06.2012 22:18, Kemist

I catch 1 copy a day. Ropalopus clavipes in a crown trap and 1 specimen. Add Procerus scabrosus tauricus to a glass of vinegar.

One Potosia cuprina and one purple auratum

04.07.2012 16:49, Kemist

I can't promise two perceruses at once, it would be more interesting to come and catch them myself. There is a lot of pressure to buy proceruses, and they stopped coming across a copy every day.

Measures are taken - bottles are opened with a fork

08.07.2012 11:05, Bad Den

I'm serious, though. I would have picked it up at the congress, but I can pay for it now. But it is "Muscat biliy Chervonogo Kamen", not another.

No more than two bottles can be legally exported from ukraine

09.07.2012 1:19, Bad Den

Then 2

09.07.2012 15:30, Dracus

At the cost of going through 30 or more auratas a day, one Potosia cuprina and one purple aurata were obtained in krnon traps

Can I take a photo of purple aurata?

09.07.2012 20:55, Kemist

I bought two treasured bottles. I don't have a camera, so I can't take photos yet. The beetle is absolutely purple, the bottom is black.

I bought two treasured bottles.

How much money should I send and where?

11.07.2012 22:35, Kemist

Maybe it's better to wait for the congress? Both bottles cost 300 hryvnias.

Returning to the topic of Crimean beetles, are there any data on the presence of Ceratophyus polyceros?

Currently, it seems as if they say that in Ukraine, his finds outside the territory of the Kherson region are unknown.

In 2011, colleagues caught 1 copy. in the Donbas, in the Luhansk region.

I found a map of its range in Ukraine on the Web. Is anyone aware of its origins?
