Here the writer Kaabak spent several seasons, he saw an unknown saturnia here, heard the meowing of a tiger... Butterflies in this place swarm at night and during the day. Rosalia are not uncommon, callipogons fly around dry elms. Surroundings of Muraveyka village, Anuchinsky district, Primorsky Krai. It has a house for rent. If you want to live in it this season, write to me. I'll give you the host's email address. Amazing location. I highly recommend it to everyone. Below are photos of objects caught in the vicinity and an episode of hunting. The latter is from Anuchino, 15 km away. According to the owner, there are even more nocturnal birds in the Anthill. Entomological El Dorado! Even the name of the village hints at this. smile.gif

There is no photo of the house. An old wooden one. It's quite comfortable inside. There is electricity. There is a grocery store in the village. The people are kind and friendly.

And in that mystical Saturnia with huge eyespots, Erebus macrops is quite recognizable.

I think so too! Meshcheryakov had seen her somewhere. He told me about it. But I didn't catch it.

Moreover, Kononenko seems to have it.

Oh, someday I'll fly to the Ussuri Region again!

02.02.2014 21:55, entomological tours

I'm planning an entomological tour from Vladivostok to Irkutsk. It starts from mid-May to June 1. During these two weeks, there will be a smooth and unhurried movement to the designated point by the specified time, with regular stops to collect material. I will be assisted by a well-tested, comfortable, full-drive warhorse (see photo). Which can take on board up to three more willing participants. Who will have the opportunity to realize their interests in the Far East, Transbaikalia and the Baikal region. And also visit the Baikal entomological Mecca, the village of Mondy. You can discuss a more detailed tour plan and conditions by emailing me. picture: 054.JPG

to Wild Yuri:
Yuri, do apricots grow in the Ant Hill in the vicinity?

03.02.2014 10:51, Wild Yuri

I haven't seen it in the surrounding area. But I was there "briefly", and did not go at all to the slope oak forests, the Manchurian apricot biotope. But it is full of it in the gardens of local residents. The climate in Muraveyka is hot in summer. Apricots ripen well. There are a lot of wild ones on the Apricot ridge named after them, which is located in the Khasansky district. Seaside entomologist Evgeny Belyaev told me that in the spring, during flowering, the forest there is all white, as if in snow, and at the end of July, bears come to those places "from all over" - roaring, fighting, sharing attacking apricots. Entomologists were very rare on Apricot Ridge. It is possible to discover some new species of insects associated with this plant. Its exact name is Manchurian apricot (Prunus mandschurica). It is also found in seaside gardens, in the form of many high-yielding varieties.

Two years ago, the author of the ad (Vadim Golovizin) "gave me a ride" along this route. I really liked it! Caught during the day and on the light from the battery at night in several regions. We swam in the lake. We collected mushrooms. We spent the night in a car and tents, but everywhere along the route there are cheap hotels, with full comfort, where you can stay. There are plenty of cafes. They were mostly used for food. Great route! I recommend it to everyone! As well as the guide-driver - calmness and benevolence itself. smile.gif

Oh, someday I'll fly to the Ussuri Region again!

This year! Air tickets from Moscow to Vladivostok and back for May now cost 10700 rubles. (!!!) I think that in a month the price will be similar for June, and in two months-July.

Hello everyone. If you are planning a trip to Primorye in July this year, please contact me. Preferably in the personal account. Thank you.

27.02.2014 20:44, Maksim M.

While in blackness, I'm thinking about a trip to Tajikistan at the end of April, with a foreman of finishers, there is the beginning of the mountains-the end of the desert, there are gorges with mountain rivers-just catch everything that comes across within 2 weeks, the car and generator are promised to be available for free, and in the future it will be possible to correct a trip just for something..

02.03.2014 9:50, Wild Yuri

I was very optimistic. Tickets to Vladivostok and back for the summer tripled in price (!!!), and now go from 30,000 rubles. round trip. And, it seems, there will be no reduction in price. frown.gif

02.03.2014 15:57, Wild Yuri

Correction. I wrote about the Aeroflot fare. I have now discovered that it has grown slightly for Transaero - from Moscow to Vladivostok it has become about 7,000 rubles, and the same amount back.

06.03.2014 0:51, Wild Yuri

Ah! Aeroflot's tickets are down today! Almost doubled! What is being done-then... In general, I continue to invite everyone to Primorye! smile.gif

in late May-early June, a trip to the North Ossetian nature reserve for a week is planned. a visit to South Ossetia is not excluded. I don't know the details yet, but I can take 1 person with me

Anyone who goes to the Caucasus (and then returns back to Russia) - I invite you as a transshipment base, to my company.
I live near Mineralnye Vody, a hub for all directions.
I can accept 3 people at a time.
I'll be glad to see you.
There is a lack of live communication with brothers in mind.

And not early???

Well, actually, it's a little early. And in a month it's the same (taking into account the early spring this year). According to D. V. Obydov, nitens should be caught in early spring, as soon as the snow comes down.

According to my long-term observations, the peak of activity occurs in mid-May and lasts until mid-June. At the end of April, there are only some individuals...

Has anyone caught C. nitens in the PTZ in recent years? By the way, on the topic: I invite those who want to fish in the PTZ area to visit me. There is always a place to spend the night, a house near the eastern border of the reserve in a century-old oak grove. Write in advance and we will make an agreement! Many have already been there. Places in the entomological plan are the most interesting!

Who wants to go fishing for insects in Sumatra in May? I travel in this region, mainly on a motorbike, I have been to many places and got the idea to organize author's tours in North Sumatra. On May 1-23, Alexander Vasiliev, a fairly well-known fan of home-keeping exotic insects, comes to visit me in Sumatra. There is a detailed description of the route on my website - http://travel-to-parks.ru/nabirayu-gruppu-...matre-v-aprele/ It is more designed for standard tourists, but if a purely entomological team is recruited, the route can be reworked in connection with their requests. The total budget of a 23-day trip is 60 thousand rubles per person. Interested write in PM, or on tanaw@yandex.ru

Tell me, when can you organize tours for entomologists to really wild places? I really want to visit the islands-Halmahera, Ambon. And, in West Irian, go up to Punchak Jaya. Visit Merauke, Tanahmeran, & other interesting places.

Sumatra is also full of wild places and more accessible. The Gayo Mountains, for example ,( although the biodiversity there is depleted, but specific, since the height of 1500-2500 and dead-cover pine forests dominate the vegetation), the plateau to the west of Toba, many mountains of the Borisan range. Papua and Malluki are not in my area of interest in the near future. Next winter, I plan to travel around central and southern Sumatra, as well as explore Mentawai, Nias and Simelue. Flores is still quite well known and after Sumatra, plans include Flores, Sumba, Sumbawa, Timor, Alor and other Nusa Tenggara islands.
