At the end of May, a trip to the Ilovlya River is planned for several days . I will be very happy to meet in person with local entomologists or people who have been there and can help with advice about those places. I am interested in day and night butterflies and beetles. Main goals:croatica, hebe, larvae of gorganoides, spini, pigeons and nymphalids. We start from Tambov together by car, we can pick up someone on the way/meet in Tambov (there is a place to stop) /meet on the spot. If you don't have the time or opportunity to go, please send your advice mol.gifto your email address (in your profile).

One gets the impression that Odonteus tends to the west of the Moscow region. It would not hurt to make maps of its habitat in the Moscow region and put it in the Red Book, it is already listed in the Red Books of a number of regions, this message is wider than the scope of this branch.

I get the impression

This is a false impression! It is present in the south-east of the Moscow Region.

Cozy house with a charming hostess in a magnificent forest near Tuapse. There are old mighty trees that have died of natural causes, all full of holes from barbels, goldenrods and other beetles. There are not many butterflies, but there may be interesting moths. The sea is nearby! I recommend this place to everyone! http://www.vesna6-tuapse.narod.ru/.

Just returned from sdi13 from Astrakhan, on the way twice (2 nights) caught on the Ilovlya River near Mikhaylovka and Zakharovka. The overall impression is that spring is 1-1. 5 weeks late, and it was much better in previous years. On the night of May 8, the frost reached -4, only fresh A,festiva, a couple of scarabs and some green dung flew. On April 30, the night was mostly empty, there was no spini, during the day only individual polyxenes and dawns flew, from beetles - crunches-chanterelles. I got some gold and a couple of black T-shirts and banal black chicks, there were no dorcas at all. At the end of May, most likely, there will be gorgons themselves, and not their caterpillars.
The spinis seem to have flown away during the warming period in mid-April.

Comrades!
We are looking for a 3rd travel companion to Georgia for June, starting from the 2nd decade of the month and until the end(but the terms are still floating). Hiking trips are planned to a couple of peaks and a couple more passes, in Svaneti and Mingrelia.

Requirements: Normal physical condition, experience of high-altitude hiking, healthy adventurism and adequacy and availability of a foreign passport is desirable.

It seems that's all, the trip is planned to be a budget one.

The goals, mainly collecting beetles, with butterflies in the western Caucasus are not very good.

To find out the rest of the details - write to your personal account.
