IX Readings in memory of O. A. Kataev: Dendrobiont invertebrates and fungi and their role in forest ecosystems

Dear colleagues!

St. Petersburg State Forest Engineering University named after S. M. Kirov and the Russian Entomological Society invite you to take part in the IX Readings in memory of O. A. Kataev, which will be held on November 23-25, 2016 at the Department of Forest Protection and Hunting Studies of St. Petersburg State University of Forestry and Forestry (St. Petersburg, Institutsky Lane, house 5) [arrival-November 22].

The purpose of the Readings is to exchange views on topical issues of forest entomology, forest phytopathology and forest protection, coordinate scientific research, summarize current knowledge in the field of ecology of dendrobiont organisms, and discuss key research areas.

Topic of the IX Readings: Dendrobiont invertebrates and fungi and their role in forest ecosystems. As in previous readings, we plan to critically assess what is known about pests and pathogens of woody plants, as well as discuss the processes occurring in complexes of dendrobiont invertebrates and fungi in forest ecosystems.

To participate in the Readings, please register by September 1, 2016 by e-mail (chtenia.o.a.kataeva@gmail.com) by providing the following information about yourself:

The registration fee will be approximately 1000 rubles (it will include the publication of abstracts of 1 report (1 page in Russian or English), a participant's package, including 1 copy of the program and abstracts, coffee breaks). The registration fee for undergraduates and postgraduates is approximately 700 rubles. Publication of theses for each additional report or additional page (maximum size of theses is 2 pages): + 400 rubles. You will be asked to pay for lunch and participation in a friendly dinner separately on the first day of the Readings. Correspondence participation is possible: with sending out the program and abstracts in the form of a PDF file (250 rubles; abstracts of 1 report, 1 page; 350 rubles – 2 pages) or with sending out printed programs and abstracts (350 rubles or 450 rubles, respectively).

The registration fee will need to be transferred by bank or postal transfer before October 1, 2016 (as will be reported in the Second Newsletter in September 2016).

Accommodation will be offered in a hostel or dispensary of SPbGLTU (prices will be specified in the Second Information letter).

Abstracts will need to be submitted by September 15, 2016. The abstract format will be sent with a Second information letter in August 2016 (in the appendix).

We will publish the abstracts before the start of the Readings and distribute them to the participants. All abstracts will be registered in the RSCI (with a single DOI), i.e. they will be considered publications.

Based on the results of the Readings, the materials of the reports made at the Readings, after careful review, are planned to be published in the form of articles in the periodical included in the List of the Higher Attestation Commission "Izvestiya of the St. Petersburg Forestry Engineering Academy".

So, the important dates are:
– registration - until September 1, 2016,
- abstracts - until September 15, 2016,
- contribution-until October 1, 2016
– - arrival – November 22, 2016 (Tuesday),
- working days of Readings – November 23-25, 2016 (Wednesday-Friday).
