Dear entomologists, you may be interested to watch this video.
If not, demolish it. Personally, I liked it and even made me want to try my own hand at making something like this.

Making an Ant

Before clicking on the link, I racked my brain for a long time on what was meant. So far, even the bacterium can not be completely manufactured (only the DNA of it and then not without the help of yeast), and here is a whole murvey! But it turns out that this is just a fly for fishing. Why do you need something like this? Are you really a fly fisherman?

Are you a fly fisherman?

Unfortunately not! Where in my hellish anthropogenic world can I be a fly fisherman? It is necessary to live somewhere in the Urals, or the Far East. There are still many clean rivers with noble fish. We only have toads and rotans, I guess. I'm not a fisherman at all.

But the video is good. It's pure art and biology.

Fly fishing? No, you haven't. I tried fly fishing grayling-zero. The only thing that gave a catch was fly fishing when catching dace on the Kama River at the time of ant summer. This. you know, when you want to catch less, but in an exotic way.

I was surprised to find that this method of fishing has a lot of fans! Even in the Moscow River, someone is caught. I would be afraid to pull something out of the water...

Currently, fly fishing is a labor-intensive and ineffective relic of the past, the lot of crazy aesthetes. If you are one of them, then I dare to make you happy: fly fishing is possible almost everywhere (including in Moscow) and almost everything. Another thing is that in other ways you will catch it all much faster, incomparably easier and in much larger quantities. And you will spend less money.

Well, few people feed on fishing. All fishing is the lot of eccentric romantics.

Fishing is an excuse to leave your home to visit nature. On a fishing trip, you can swim, listen to the sounds and smells of nature, and admire. And the fish...for three fishing trips, I caught two things, the size of the photo in the topic about the temperature anomaly. But I've been in nature. Of course, I want to go fishing. But there is nowhere nearby (glistoistochnik p.I don't consider Kama a fishing spot). I'm going grayling fishing in the near future. I haven't fished in those places for a long time, probably 10 years already. And clearly the catch will be very modest, if it is. But maybe I'll pick up oregano, yarrow in the distance from civilization, take a picture. It's a pity, you can't swim there, it's very cold, shallow and strong current

I also wanted to take my backpack and go somewhere...
I always assumed that all freshwater fish were at risk, by the way. Opisthorchiasis and all that...

Not obligatory. In your area rich in water bodies, it is quite possible to feed on fish, not like in our country, where the rates of fish biomass are less than the biomass of rabolovs who settle on their banks. Besides, eccentricity is different from eccentricity. It's one thing with spinning without much effort to wander for a couple of hours along the bank, just "firing" baits at all interesting places within a radius of 50 m and catch a couple of pikes or a dozen perches, quite another - to stick out in a wading jumpsuit in the middle of the river and lash back and forth with a cord (and still not be able to throw legs) in the hope of a maximum of a chub weighing less than 100 g, and more often-without any hope at all. It is not for nothing that fly fishing in Russia has so few fans compared to any other fishing methods.

How poetically you described fly fishing!

We have a lot of fans of nets and electric pipes.
Any real dude in a jeep must, must bring home the loot, otherwise this expensive pleasure can not justify even to yourself (I mean a long ride to the fishing spot). And if you are far away, where there are no people who can hang lyuley for poaching, then you are free to do whatever you want.
We've had enough, chess word, of these poachers.
Yes, spinners and floaters go and sit on the berag of reservoirs and sadly state that they do not bite.
About helminths. In Kama fish, helminths are sometimes found in very good sizes. It is clear that lyamliy eye would not notice could.
A lot of waste and chemicals are thrown into the Kama River, and in summer the water "blooms"in it. A lump of transparent (in spring) and greenish mucus (in summer) is pulled out on the "donka".
In stagnant water bodies, infected fish will die very quickly. This is clearly visible. As soon as the flood subsided, the lakes near Kama separated from the river by land, so sick fish immediately surfaced, washed up at the surface for a day or two and later died.

That's for sure! there are a lot of thick-headed scoundrels. Once, in a small river, we accidentally found several nets filled with skeletons and dead fish (we hooked them with an oar). There are not enough censored words.

This "somehow" I discovered and discover every year and more than once. Now-less often, and in my youth - constantly, because during the holidays I fished almost every day. This is everywhere!!

I'm not a fisherman, but even that makes me angry. It is strange that the networkers are not broomed by ordinary fishermen.

03.08.2017 12:44, alex017

There are not so many normal fishermen, and netters are usually not alone and with weighty arguments in their favor

03.08.2017 13:14, Bear

Interesting, by the way. Is it officially possible to catch nets here?

03.08.2017 14:52, alex017

It should be possible.

Netting in Russia can only be caught by fishermen. But, for example, in Finland-and amateurs too, but there you need a license for any method (paid). As they say, any whim for your money. By the way, the gill net itself is by no means a killer of all living things, and with proper responsible use it is no more harmful than hook gear. Problems for nature begin when irresponsible poachers use kilometers of nets with tiny cells and / or leave them in a pond. Here is an electric fishing rod - this is an unambiguous evil that reduces all the fish population of a reservoir or its site to the root. I myself know one such site, where the pike was completely destroyed by poachers for several such "fishing trips". Although there is a humane modification with a weak direct current, which does not jam the fish, but only forces them to float to the surface and move to the electrodes, this is used by American ichthyologists to monitor the species composition and number of fish, they believe that it is harmless (the current is turned off - the fish swims away as if nothing had happened). Judging by the fact that the fish in their reservoirs are like mud, they probably don't lie.

Yes, in Finland-just a cult of fishing. My familiar dates are ready to talk about their" marmyshki " for hours. They are very fond of catching perch.
An interesting question, of course: how were the authorities able to explain to the population that it is impossible to throw near the pond/rivers mountains of garbage?

Real fly fishing in our (and your) conditions strongly resembles masochism.

Bitim on the pocket)

We should definitely learn from this valuable experience! By the way, I also see positive examples: a couple of times I saw local Pushchino fishermen cleaning the Oka riverbank and taking out garbage bags. This is encouraging.
