On August 4, 2019, Boris Vitalievich Stradomsky, a well-known scientist, specialist in molecular biology and pigeons, passed away at the age of 60.

After suffering a stroke in 2018, Boris Vitalievich continued to work actively (to the best of his ability), and managed to publish several articles, including finding the strength to finish our joint work on the satirids of the genus Melanargia of Central Asia.

I express my condolences to my family and friends.

Why, why do we, entomologists, survive in mountains, deserts, taiga and swamps, in wild heat and wild cold, but we die like this, unexpectedly and in hothouse conditions?! Maybe because we live there and exist the rest of the time?
It is a pity that I did not know Boris Vitalyevich personally, but I always enjoyed reading his highly professional notes and answers here. Alas, there is nothing eternal, not even memory, but we will remember!

Boris Vitalyevich was an Entomologist with a capital letter - a wonderful scientist, a good friend, a thoughtful and erudite interlocutor... BRIGHT MEMORY!!!
His work on butterflies will always be in demand by us and other generations of lepidopterists! Boris and I had joint projects on pigeon beds, which were implemented in several publications:
References to his research will always reflect his invaluable contribution to science.
