Still take a picture, even if he dies, even if the body can be identified, for the future.

02.02.2007 19:52, andr_mih

I don't think it's a cricket - it's too big, it's more like a caveman-a thread. I'd love to pick it up, but I can't get through yet.

02.02.2007 20:10, taler

I'm also leaning towards cricket...There is only one salvation-suspended animation.Place the jar between the window panes. He'll sleep until spring or thaw. And so they are tenacious, but predators. You can feed beetles

02.02.2007 20:48, andr_mih

it doesn't make sense... They are terrible eek.gifpredators who feed their larvae with elephants and wild bulls. In suspended animation - best of all in liquid nitrogen smile.gifIn Khimki houses, for your information, the bank between the window frames-does not fit tongue.gif

03.02.2007 9:25, RippeR

lol.gif In the Khimki houses, it will become too hard anyway, without putting it on the street lol.gif

03.02.2007 15:15, andr_mih

In short, it's not straight-winged. It turned out to be some kind of barbel from Lamiinae, so far I can't even determine the genus.

03.02.2007 15:31, Dmitry Vlasov

Wow! Post a photo, maybe we can work together to determine...
And the option of appearing in the house is rather one - it came out of some wooden products. An exotic beetle is unlikely due to almost two weeks of frost.

03.02.2007 16:08, andr_mih

Most likely this one:
http://molbiol.ru/forums/index.php?showtopic=139797

03.02.2007 16:14, RippeR

Not a sickly find at home!! I also want to have various interesting barbels crawling up to my house smile.gif

03.02.2007 20:29, taler

And how does andr_mih determine?!
eek.gif According to this description, I got to the barbels... lol.gif Maybe one of the cockroaches? There is also a mustachelol.gif, the squeaker does not fit the size.
Yes, I forgot about the jar and windows...Who knew that in Russia banks are all huge and standard (or is it only in Khimki?) tongue.gif
Then on the advice of RippeR-freeze doma

03.02.2007 21:27, andr_mih

I determine that I am pure intuitively, and I can do it blindfolded. Banks and bottles in Russia are all standard-36-caliber smile.gifAnd we also have bears everywhere on the streets (if suddenly someone did not know, especially for foreigners).

Yes, can someone tell me what to feed the violinist? He doesn't eat the leaves of horse sorrel, hardy and wheat, and I don't have anything from willow trees...

03.02.2007 22:41, omar

Try to break poplar or aspen thin twigs with bark, poplars in Moscow grow like... smile.gif

03.02.2007 23:31, RomArt

Got a bug in the house, lives everywhere throughout the apartment without localization foci, up to 3-4 mm in size, just annoying with its constant presence. Please help me.

You guys are burning up!!

04.02.2007 11:44, RippeR

In my opinion, it looks like some kind of leather eaters or hoods. If kozheedy, then it is necessary to look somewhere in fur coats and other remains of animal origin, although they may have settled somewhere in cereals., if hoods, then most likely they stick out in some wood - you need to check the furniture.

04.02.2007 14:45, andr_mih

And it also looks like Stegobium paniceum, I have such in dried fruit zavodilis

04.02.2007 14:59, taler

I agree. The subject is on the left, without a photo, and the description is primitive.Plus great intuition tongue.gif

04.02.2007 21:31, Victor Titov

Even taking into account the not very successful photo, these are grinders, and 99.9% of them are Stegobium paniceum

Or maybe a female Acanthocinus sp.? They just have an ovipositor present...
But I take it you saw him live?"

04.02.2007 22:12, omar

Acanthocinuses are too small to impress a lady like that ... eek.gif

04.02.2007 23:38, Bad Den

But mustache - hoo-hoosmile.gif

05.02.2007 19:59, andr_mih

No, it's not Acanthocinus, but Saperda carcharias, and it's also a male. So I won't be able to breed this pest. There is no ovipositor, this is a fragment of a wing sticking out from under the elytra.

05.02.2007 20:27, RippeR

So that's it: How to cook Saperda carcharias at home:
1) hold in a vise so that the head and "tail" are on the edges of the vise
2) carefully, with surgical precision, remove the antennae - they are hard and there is no mucus in them
3) remove the elytra - they are also not edible (although they are suitable for soaking. Soak for three days, then boil for 4 hours in boiling water with salt)
4) now you can get the beetle out of the vise and kill the animal
5) prepare the seasoning: salt, pepper, soy sauce, a pinch of uropa, a piece of avocado, a couple of drops of lemon juice. All crush, mix. Lower the Saperda into the sauce for half an hour.
6) The saperda is attached to a wooden stick with its paws and wrapped with threads.
7) saperda is placed in a split vessel with sunflower oil for 15 minutes so that the paws with a stick do not fall completely.
8) Take out the saperda, put it on a dish decorated with tomatoes, dill and potatoes.
Enjoy your delicious meal!

This "beast" lives in various products, Shake all the boxes, jars and bags of cereals. dried fruits, flour, etc... If found , throw it away mercilessly. other products should be frozen on the balcony, especially since the weather allows it now.

06.02.2007 9:56, omar

If it really is this kind, it makes sense to go through all the dry spices and dried fruits, especially! ground red pepper. If you have untreated wooden containers for storing something, look carefully, this species makes its own moves, including in wood.

Good afternoon!
Help me identify it! see the photo.
It was found under the sofa. Six legs. It looks like a maggot.
Thank you in advance.

It looks like the larva of a skin-eating beetle. In my opinion, this is not a pleasant guest..

How to fight?

judging by the appearance - Attagenus sp.

judging by the appearance - Attagenus sp.

If possible, decipher "Attagenus sp". Who it is and how to deal with it.
Thanks!

06.02.2007 16:58, Dmitry Vlasov

Kozheed. You can fight by treating the room with insecticides for crawling insects. You can freeze the house, or thoroughly remove dust behind cabinets, baseboards, etc. It is harmful to wool products, but not as much as a moth. But we must try to destroy it...

09.02.2007 14:48, Mylabris

Sharpe (1911) reports that several generations of such grinders lived on pure opium for 12 years!!!

09.02.2007 14:56, Mylabris

Hay eaters, after all.

09.02.2007 15:01, omar

Cool, but too expensive! smile.gif

why is he called leatherhead?
I apologize for the question of a curious person, I just have them too, so I was looking for lime...
I think books and all the old blankets-things to take out on the balcony to freeze.. it is good that there is winter, and at home in the meantime, general cleaning.
maybe there is something that they absolutely do not like - like smells, plants of some kind?

10.02.2007 16:24, Dmitry Vlasov

Kozheeds are called because they belong to this family. Some representatives feed on the skin - of course, not "fresh", but the skin of dried corpses. The larva, the one in the photo, feeds on keratin-containing materials (wool. feather, human hair). The beetle does not feed, or eats pollen from flowering plants. They do not like the smell of camphor, paradichlorobenzene (this is how antimol smells) , etc. But even a person will feel bad from such a "stench"...

Kozheed - because it can damage the skin (not on living creatures, essno, but dry, for example, it can eat the skin of that unfortunate mink from which your hat smile.gifis made )
It's hardly necessary to take books out on the balcony, it doesn't seem to damage the paper (unless, of course, you have leather-bound folios on your bookshelf smile.gif)
Blankets should be taken out - if they are made from nature. wool. At the same time and moth prevention smile.gif
And so - the main measure to combat "home" leatherworms is to prevent dust from accumulating in different places - you probably know what this is about, right? Many months of dusty "pillows" behind cabinets, under beds, etc. are an ideal breeding ground for the leatherworm. Plus, you should try to isolate your fur items from the kozheed - those that you don't use regularly (the kozheed won't start up on what you wear every day - he really doesn't like to be disturbed smile.gif). To do this, it is enough to keep them in tight plastic bags, but always new, so that without holes.
About herbs that repel kozheeda-I heard something about lavender and wormwood (or is it from moths???).

Friends, I searched for photos of these Stegobium paniceum and some really look like them, photos 1 and 2. In cereals, etc. do not live exactly, my wife says that there is a larger accumulation near the flowerpots, although she thinks that they crawl through the cracks between the wall and the windows, I have suspicions that maybe these bastards live in oak parquet, although it has been lying for 1.5 years, and they appeared 2-3 months ago. And my wife has seen over the past month 3 times (and naturally killed) beetles in photo 3 with a length of 1-1. 5 cm. FRIENDS, THEY FUCKED ME UP - HELP LIME!!!

Thank you in advance, RomArt

Take and spray insecticides where you saw them - in the cracks between the frame and near the parquet, then they can disappear.
The fact that the parquet has been laid for a long time is correct - they do not appear immediately. Most likely, some kind of larvae have been laid, and now beetles have come out.

14.02.2007 10:22, Dmitry Vlasov

If this is a bread grinder, then in oak parquet it definitely does not develop...
And under the parquet what? There can't be any organic backfill?
Or these beetles are coming out of the air vents. Seal them with gauze or fine polymer mesh...
