I want to try to grow bear caterpillars in winter after a small diapause, the Parasemia plantaginis species now I have about 150 eggs and 1 more species of an unknown bear that has 8 caterpillars. I think I'll feed it on the plantain plants that I planted at this hour. Can anyone give any advice on this or share their experience? confused.gif

I grew the second generation of Platarctia atropurpurea in winter without diapause. I fed them white cabbage. But at the age of 3 - 4, the caterpillars began to die and only 2 specimens survived to curl the cocoons. Curled-and also died. It was in November and December. I think there are substances harmful to them in cabbage, which is why such a sad outcome. Apparently, it is better to feed them salad, but I did not have such an opportunity then.

Where and how do you transport Hebe's Bears?
Is there anything to exchange from dipper?

isn't Arctia heba synonymous with Arctia festiva?

Yes, these are two names for the same bear.

I just haven't seen this name anywhere, it's probably outdated for a very long time...

This name is found in Efetov K. A., Budashkin Yu. I. "Butterflies of the Crimea".
